    New Bass Day!

just picked up a 2005 Epiphone Les Paul Standard Bass, with a Gibson USA hardshell case. It's in like new condition except for the oxidation on the frets, so I will be getting on that straight away and polishing them up. Really different neck profile and narrower than I'm used to but it plays great and sounds great as well.

Under that crud, the frets have no signs of wear. Paid $300 for this with the Gibson USA hard case, seems like a good deal. Very little info on the web about this model, so far it seems really cool.

Nice score. B-mac over on TB should be able to provide some information on it.

Here is one I passed on and let him grab.

I left that forum, really a horrible group people there. Not all but quite a few, plus it's a very hard place to get the hang of, too many sub-forums and uptight mods.

Never had any trouble on Talk-Bass, but I can't keep track of all the forums. TDPRI, despite supposing to be primarily about Tele, seems to fill all my forum needs: Teles, Strats, Basses, Recording, Amps, Squier everthing, DIY/Mods. All covered and this is about the most respectful place I have ever hung out.

Nice score with that LP bass. I'm mostly a Fender/PBass guy, but I always liked the full scale SG style basses.

    So there's that :D

Seriously though, you described every gear forum I've ever been on.

I guess, this is the only one that I am really on. The thing that sealed it for me was some opinionated AH that got mad at me for quoting his posts and pointing out where he was wrong, then he moved it to PM and started threatening me.

    Sweet!

I've never seen one of those before. Looks really nice! My first brand new base was Gibson G3. Huge neck dive, weighed a ton, wiring was always kind of wonky.

Congrats again I hope you enjoy!

Thanks, yeah really enjoying it, really great tones out of it. Trying to decide if I want to mod it with a 3-way toggle for pickup switching like the Gibson.
