I played bass on and off for the last ten years. I sold my bass in 2016 and decided it’s time for a new bass.

I made a thread on choosing either the Sonic Gray or Roasted Ash. I ended up getting a different bass model as I liked the specs of the “Elite” bass more than the current “Professional” or “Ultra” series.
I was surprised to like the black on black with maple neck and black binding. It reminded me of my first guitar; a black on black Squier ‘51 that I foolishly sold .

I was able to find a NOS(new old stock)/brand new Fender American Elite Jazz Bass on Reverb for a good deal:

Does the A string have its own string tree?

    Looks like a nice bass
I dabble in the bass a little myself and think a jazz bass is near

Those block markers look awesome almost kind of like a marble look

You need to give us a report after you try it out. How's the setup? Do you like the tones, the way it plays... etc. etc. How's it work?

Three days is still quite recent but as far as playability is concerned it plays very smooth. The compound 10-14”, C to D neck is also comfortable to play. The action is nice and low with enough relief that I don’t get any buzzing issues.

The guitar is also very resonant.. when I thump and pluck it sounds loud and clear. The passive pickups sound pretty good but the active pickups just has that extra “oomph” to it. More clarity and presence when using active mode.

The noiseless pickups are also whisper quiet. Cranked up my amp and heard no noise.
It also feels light when playing in standing (9lbs 7.7oz). I find playing bass in standing more comfortable than in sitting.

I’ve played on a Premium Ibanez (SR1400e) before but this is on another level (granted this guitar costs quite a bit more also).

I am liking it, happy camper.

I have an Elite Strat, and I talked my bass player into getting an Elite P Bass. We both love them. I'm sure you will as well. Congrats!
