Saw The Doors in Dallas in late sixties.....plus numerous videos of live performances, and don't believe (?) he (Ray) EVER used bass pedals. He was amazing to watch, playing organ with right hand, Rhodes Piano Bass with left hand, and singing harmony....all at the same time. Talented man!

Not altogether unlike how I got my first band gig. Two guitarist and a drummer, bassist had just quit due to work obligations. I owned a cheap Silvertone bass and a small Kalamazoo 30w bass amp. I became the new bassist. LOL

    Nice bass and.......Best of luck!

You might wanna start building those right hand calluses on your index and middle finger right away, and keep a pick handy just in case you develope blisters. I am always amazed how quickly blisters can form if you havn’t had the time to develope/maintain a few really specific calluses. Lots of guitar skills transfer to bass, but not all the calluses do!

That red Jack bass is beautiful! I've mostly seen them in gold or white. If I start playing bass again, a red one like yours is at the top of my list. Good luck with the gig!

I’ve played in two bands as a bassist
    Lot of fun
My heart is always with the guitar though

Those red, 20th anniversary Jack Casady basses are gorgeous.

I'd love to get one, but I can't bring myself to have two of the same instrument.

Mine is an early model from 1999. I think they stopped making sunburst with this batch.

    Good luck with your Jackbass.
