    Yeah, take it back.

No telling what having the tubes in the wrong position did to what is inside the Amp.

It's their fault, they are Obligated to take care of you.

Thanks schmee, normally a failed QC would be the blame, but in this case it's the music store who's to blame for the quality lapse.

Bummer, sorry you have to go through that. I know the store will make it right but the excitement of getting a new piece of gear and it not working out is really a downer. Hang in there you'll have a new amp soon.

I don’t think removing tubes for shipping is a myth, tubes fall out and break, may not be a big deal with new tubes.
Rca black plates? That would be a problem.

shipping is pretty rough on an amp,
So much so, I stopped shipping amps I build, pretty much limits my sales to the Houston area.

the problem here is not shipping, or precautions being taken.

pretty sure the problem here is tubes in the wrong spot. And that is a problem.

Look, I'm as accepting and compassionate as the next guy (well, depending on who the next guy is) but I can't go along with making a cruel mockery of nature. Reminds me of the failed clones in "Alien Resurrection"...

Absolutely not so, unless you haven't been experienced. Have you ever been experienced?< I have and so was Leo. Want a 12 to do real well with a PR? Add it in its own designated cabinet. Mess with a PR's speaker, transformers, etc, good on you to make you happy, but you do not have a PR anymore, it is, something else.

The original design of a Princeton certainly included a 10"... but Leo did not do that to create a tone machine. The Princeton filled the "feature/price" void between the Champ and the Deluxe.... nothing more. That fact that a few decades later people started considering them a coveted amp is purely circumstance. Smaller venues, lower volumes, better PA's, etc.... etc... opened the doors for the Princeton to have it's day.

I'm not saying it isn't deserving of it's day, I'm just saying LEO didn't exactly plan it that way :D

I have owned a few Princetons and just don't care for the sound of 10" speakers. I much prefer the sound of a Pro Reverb over a Super Reverb for the same reason. I don't like the snappier attack of 10" speakers.

It is "absolutely so," for me.
