Man oh man, as much as I love the Beach Boys and their superlative iconic harmonies,

I always felt Carol Kaye's up front bass playing in Sloop John B,
makes that song pulsate and brings it to life!!
    What great lines!
And it's slightly distorted at the very end as it all reaches a crescendo.

"Wooden Ships," by Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Actually about the day after a nuclear war, "silver people" meaning hazmat suits.

I use the opening chime of "Sloop John B" as the text message sound on my phone.

I love this song...no idea what it's about.

    But it sounds great.

This is an amazing compilation that I listen to frequently. I have about every sea shanty album in print and some out of print. Amazing and entertaining music often used as work songs for particular tasks on old sailing vessels.

If you can find any Johnny Collins works, buy them while you can.
