Natural Ash Finish Love it or Hate it?

Natural ash body Fenders are OK, not my first choice.

they are a bit too 70s for me. In general, I’m not the biggest fan of 70s guitar aesthetics.

I'll say yes.

My FSR "68 Thinskin" from Dave's helped start reversing GAS - 3 Telecasters to 1 keeper. The color is a warmer tone than the photo in the den shows. At same time I had 52 AVRI, Highway One and this plus Lawrence pickups. After color tone, trying the pickups and the 3 guitars made this my single coil keeper.

In my mind the evolved 68 style with my Princeton Reverb are perfection.

I could probably even tolerate a bighead Strat if it were natural Ash.

Just bought a Am Std in Natural Ash - I love the look the wife thinks it looks butt ugly. Who agrees with me? And who hates the natural finish (assuming the grain is good)?

Couple of weeks ago I picked up this 2011 Am std Ash Tele.... Love it!!

I love natural provided that the color isn't too yellow-ish like inexpensive plywood. As long as there's either a little amber in it or a little warm brown/tan, it's great.

I really don't like it much. Whenever I see it I'm thinking "oh, another home made guitar". Even though plenty aren't.

The Semi Transparent looks a bit better to me...
