I'm no expert on guitars but I have come across what I think is a good buy on a MIM Fender Deluxe Nashville Tele. The guy that has it hardly played it and it looks practically new, I've known him for many years and he takes good care of his instruments. I can get it for around $450.00. I looked on Reverb and it seems pricing is all over the board on these. Does this sound like a good deal?

I think so. Used prices are fairly high right now - often 80%+ of new. Depending on the model (there are a few models under the "Nashville" moniker), used ones would go for $650+. Reverb shows used Fender Nashville Telecasters in the range of $850 - $1100. There are a few Nashville guitar works brand T-Types on Reverb for a lot less - with Nashville being the brand name (as opposed to Fender).

If that guitar is in good shape and is not warped / defective, then that is a really good price.

Thanks, like I said the guitar is in real good shape, no visible fret wear, no dings or dents, no belt buckle rash. I played it yesterday and it played and felt good. I know it is all original but I know little about these guitars as far as the specs go. Of course it has the 3 pup's, and has a 5 way switch. It has the ashtray type bridge but it is the 6 saddle model instead of the 3 saddle type, and it has what look to be vintage Kluson type tuners.

Sounds good to me. The Deluxe model is higher priced than the standard right?

The current Nashville, I forget the new model name, has noiseless pickups and a push/pull pot so you can get the bridge and neck together. The previous model has Tex-Mex pickups but only five combinations. The Tex-Mex pickups are a tad hotter than vintage but sound pretty good. You’ll want to shield the pickup and control cavities if that one and wire in a 250K push/pull pot. Don’t cheap out on the pot. Most folks use a push/pull tone pot. And there’s nothing wrong with $450. That was a fair price before inflation set in.

This would suggest it is the original Deluxe Nashville which was made from around 1999 to 2016. Great guitars with imho one of the best necks found on Mexican Fenders. They were replaced by a different version in 2016 which in turn has recently changed to a Player Plus Nashville.

As you might tell from my name, I am a fan of the Nashville.

I once had two of them, one black and one white.

(Sadly, both were sold in the pursuit of something else.)

Go buy that Nashville if you haven’t already.

I’ve said it before - all of Leo’s best ideas in one guitar. Modify the switching for bridge/neck and change the bridge if you want. Otherwise perfect.

Yes I bought it, will post a picture of it later today
Good find!! You got it at a good price in today's market. In our area, anything MIM was selling for $3-350 a couple years ago with a case. Nowadays people are asking $650-$800 for the Nashville's.....
Score!!

If the Nashville is good enough for a megastar rhythm player like Ronnie Dunn to use in live performances, something tells me it's good enough for just about any live situation.
