    Hey,

just wondering I'd like to install a third pot for the middle pickup in my tele. Basically the Brent Mason set up; do tree regular size pots fit in there or do I need to get a smaller one?

    Thanks

It'll be a tight squeeze, but you can make it work.

Great that you thought of that actually. I did this mod on my american deluxe tele and ordered a full size pot, not even thinking about this. Well long story short, the full size pot wouldn't fit so I snagged a cheap little mini pot I had taken out of one of my old MIJ fenders and used it. Go ahead and get a mini pot, I really didn't want one but didn't really have a choice...

Oh, you meant "three" pots. I was having trouble envisioning tree pots on a tele.

Better if you use bush pots (sorry, had to be done.)

Just be sure you pick the right wood. All of the tone is in the wood for a tree pot ;)

My added 3rd pot controls the volume of the added middle pickup like Bent Mason's tele. This way you can retain all of the usual tele controls and 3 way switch while being able to blend in the middle pickup as much as you want to any of the 3 original pickup combinations.

Acme Guitar Works has a bunch of Tele wiring diagrams (mostly for blending two PUs) which may get you where you want to go. I didn't look through their Strat diagrams, which may have more relevance if you are going to add a third PU.
