1978 Hamer Standard. I've been dreaming about these since the ads in Guitar Player in the 70's. Even had the poster of it.
At $12K I wouldn't have been able to afford it, right-handed or left-handed. Twas a thrill to finally see one up close & get my hands on it though.

The guy selling it said something like this one is the only one left, all the others broke.
I don't know how he would know that...
Obviously not…I found these….he might have been joking.

That Tom Dumont model is an entirely different animal than an original Hamer Standard, being made in a different country and probably a couple decades later, not to mention matters of construction and finish.
Those other two might fall in the same wheelhouse as the Standard that was at the show, but to my mind it's the 70's Standards with that particular sunburst that are the shiznitz. Black finish from the 80's, not so much.
