For me it's "360" from 2012. It seems that many find it vapid and unengaging. I thought it was quite spell binding. I really enjoyed this movie, but was shocked to see it so widely panned. It's just a bit sordid, but that gives it an edginess that illustrates some harsh realities. For all it's star power, it did poorly at the box office.

I read both critic's and viewer's reviews. Not many seemed very enthusiastic. It just goes to show you must judge things for yourself.

I have a difficult time thinking of a serious movie, but one from quite a few years ago that was very poorly received was comic Chris Elliott's Cabin Boy. It was one of those movies that's so stupid, it's funny...

More recently, I enjoyed Ricki and the Flash. Merle Streep playing a Telecaster, what's not to like?
Apparently, plenty from critics. Streep is still my favorite film star and Telecasters are still my favorite guitars.

Two of my favorites fit this category. Hudson Hawk and Club Paradise.

I don't pay attention to reviews so wouldn't know :) Let's see what I can find on the 'net though.

    Alien
    Star Wars
    The Dark Knight
    Seven
    Blade Runner
    Airplane
    Mad Max
    The Warriors
    Die Hard
    Goodfellas
    Gladiator
    Matrix
    Empire Strikes Back

That was from one site's 30 movies with bad reviews.

John Carter from 2012 (I think) I really enjoyed the movie, though it did poorly at the box office, and got poor reviews, I enjoyed immensely.

I always like 'A Life Less Ordinary' - panned on release but Ewan McGregor & Cameron Diaz really nail the whole odd-couple shtick. Funny movie.

C360_2015-05-16-22-08-09-973.jpg Burnt Offerings, (1976). Old school haunted house movie, with a great cast & decent script, (it's far from perfect, having it's clichés), starring; Karen Black, Oliver Reed, Bette Davis, Eileen Heckart & Burgess Meredith. The scenes with the creepy chauffeur are worth the trip alone!

I quite liked the first Silent Hill movie. I thought it was pretty atmospheric with some good scares. Then again, I also quite liked the Doom movie, albeit more for it's sense of humour.

I like anything with John Belushi! "Neighbors" and "1941" are two of his films that received poor reviews but I liked. Chris Farley is pretty much the same, I enjoyed his characters in any film.

+1 on Dune and Waterworld (not much different to recent Mad Max Oscar bait). All the family loved 'Them' recently too, a cheesy, poorly reviewed John Carpenter Sci-Fi flick.

I think Flash Gordon (the one with the Queen soundtrack) is fun too.

For a second there I thought you meant, "Grindhouse," but I didn't recognize the fight scene in your pic. I must admit even though I'm not into slasher films, I did somewhat enjoy the Quentin Tarantino / Robert Rodriguez effort. Not sure of the conventional reviews.

Don't know why everyone rags on Avatar. Even though it's a rip off of Dances With Wolves, I still think it's good.

    +1 for John Carter.

I really like this movie, but it tanked.
