KISS . Of course there are others , but I thought they deserves special attention .
I loathe 95% of 80s music.
Even if the vocals, lyrics, and guitar are great, the plastic-y over-processed sound just makes me angry.
Simplify the production and ditch the ridiculous image many bands put on and I'd probably enjoy that decade more.
Steve Miller Band
I know they seem to be a staple of classic rock but to me they seem to almost be the Nickelback of the 70s.
Nickelback. Oh wait, I misunderstood the question.
Most of the other bands I dislike, I'm just sick to death of. There's saturation, there's oversaturation, there's enhanced interrogation-level oversaturation, and then there's "You Can't Always Get What You Want."
WHO doesn't like BANDS?!
REO Speedwagon. In my problem drinking days I was at a party on the 16th floor of an apartment building when someone put on one of their records. I walked over to the turntable (I'm old), carefully removed the needle, and took the record to the balcony, where I sailed it into the night like a Frisbee. It was awfully quiet for a minute or so....
David Grey. He spent an hour and a half opening for Alison Krause at the Ryman. Hated every minute of him. Terrible choice for the tour.
Elvis Presley...go ahead and throw tomatoes...never could stand him...except when he had Jerry Reed on his sessions
I don't think there has ever been a band that everyone likes.
Metalicca, I don't even care how you spell it, they were never any good.
Oh come on now. Everybody likes Nickelback whether they admit it or not
Genesis. Bunch of public school tossers playing pretentious dirge.
Goin' way back, but ..... BeeGees
i could say beatles...but i realy don't like pink floyd
I want to say.. 95% of what Pink Floyd came out with OUTSIDE of Dark Side Of The Moon. That album is fantastic.. I really don't know what went wrong after that. Really not a RW fan here.
Dire Straits. Ok, Sultans of Swing is a decent tune, but the rest of it.. get out of here. People love putting Knopfler on a pedestal, but to me it just sounds so damn cheesy.
Those are the 2 that come to mind first.. but let me just say.. there's way, way, way more music I don't like, than music I do like... maybe that sounds bad, but as the years go on, I get more particular. I still love lots of new music too, so I'm always acquiring new tastes, but for all the good music out there, there is probably 10x's as much bad music.
Oh.. and there's not 1 album from anyone in the 80's that I can really put my hand on and say I love. The 80's chewed up and spit out some of my favorite artists of the previous eras. What the hell were people thinking back then???
Ramones and Rush. I like the musicians in the Ramones and their music, just can't stand Joey.
