    That's interesting.

Hey, ever see the kid who owns McGeoch's real guitar? Apparently after McGeoch's death his family was strapped for cash so his daughter put his legendary Yamaha up for sale. A young kid who was a huge fan bought it. Then the kid started putting up 'how to play like McGeoch' videos on youtube using McGeoch's guitar! It was surreal to watch. This kid is teaching us McGeoch licks...on McGeoch's very guitar!

At least the guitar is in the hands of a super fan.

1964, age fourteen, wandered onto a night beach thing going on, during my summer vacation. Dick Dale was something that set me back. That in itself, sold me on Fender guitars.

I did a list your top 20 players thing on this on this site years ago, so I will reduce my top five from that much longer list.
Ace Frehley was the first one to make me want to learn the guitar, but that about it for him.
    1. Eric Clapton
    2. Neil Giraldo
    3. Keith Richards
    4. Rick Nielsen
    5. Lindsey Buckingham
    6. Brian Setzer...I just had to include my #6 because I’m kind of on a roll with his stuff right now

    When I was first starting:
    Doyle
    Cobain
    Hetfield
    Ramone
    Ginn

My current influences would be much different.

I have argued that ace frehley is one of the most influential guitarists out there. So many 8-14 year olds pick the guitar up because of him. Many keep it up. Some even become great.
