i watched That Pedal Show for the first time in ages - that is, i turned it on and didn't switch it off

they did a whole show about EL34 amps, incl a Vox AC15

i have wanted a Vox for ages - 2 reasons being Billy Duffy uses one and they look pretty

was chatting with a mate on whatsapp about gear, and did a quick ebay search

what came up with a decent BIN price?

    a Vox AC15CH-WB

not the most exclusive amp in the world, but its bloody lovely sounding and looking

as the actress said to the clergyman, i didn't expect it to be so big. its as heavy as my Rivera and that has huge transformers

so its not a natural fit atop my Panama cab, but through the creamback speaker it sounds as good as i'd hoped. the tremolo circuit would be worth the money alone

i have work to do, but at 5 pm its tools down and guitar on

sidenote - its made my music workspace messy. with heavy heart, the head might have to go under my desk to allow the monitor to move back on to the 2nd table the Vox is currently on

I used to have a Rivera 55-12 which was a KILLER amp. One of the best sounding amps I have ever had. It was all fun and games until it literally started smoking at a gig! What a sound those, like a Fender and a Marshall in one box.

the reverb has died on my 30-12, but otherwise it is awesome

i tend to run the fender channel with notch out for a blackface tone, then spice it up with pedals. it and Vox together are sweet
