Swart STR Tremolo. I'd been fantasizing about a hand-wired amp (and Swarts) for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. An early Christmas present to myself. Teles sound amazing through this. I think it likes single coils more than humbuckers, but maybe I need to spend a little more time dialing in a Les Paul tone.

Despite having a single tone control, you can get plenty of tonal variation; there are high and low inputs, a 3 way EQ switch (low cut, neutral and "full") plus your guitar's tone knob.

My other amp is a PRRI - every guitar in the world sounds sweet as honey through it. The Swart is great, but the PRRI isn't going anywhere. The Swart is right up there with the Princeton for clean tones at lower volumes, but breaks up early in a pleasing way because it's only 5 watts. It's also overbuilt and should last well beyond the years I have left before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

    Obligatory pics:

That's a great amp. Wish I still had mine. Currently I'm using my Swart Antares cause I needed more clean headroom.

    Congrats!
I love my 5f2 which, according to what I've heard on the demos, has a tone pretty similar to the Swart you got. I wish my amp had reverb and tremolo though... Lucky you, enjoy!

Congrats! Great amp. I have one in the Tuxedo cab and it's not going anywhere. Play around with the three way switch with your Paul. I've gotten nice humbucker tones from it. There's also an owners club thread going, which is a good place for questions.

That’s an amp I would like to try. Not many of them in northern New-Brunswick Canada...

    Good gracious Sir!
    You are a fortunate man.
I've played a couple of Swarts, and they are delucious.
    Handsome buggers too!

    One week in:
That was good advice and in fact I had tried the switches, high/low inputs, everything. What I didn't take into consideration was the the speaker needed to be broken in. I don't know if the amp itself needed to burn in for a while, but for sure the speaker cone got moving a lot over the past week. My LPs sound awesome through this amp now.

My PRRI did not have this break-in period, but it has a 12" Greenback in it; In the video below Jim Campilongo mention that Celestions don't really need a break-in period, so maybe that's it.

Congrats on a great amp! I have had amps where speaker break in made no difference- and others that were disappointments that turned into great amps once broken in. Enjoy the new amp!

Glad it's working out. I've heard some great demos of the amp with LP's so I figured the tonez were in there somewhere. My STR Trem with the BV needed more breaking in than my AST Pro with the Celestion so maybe Campilongo is right.

    Great amp .

Since hearing 2 local musicians with Celestions in their PR’s, I absolutely love that combination .

    Especially the Vintage 10
