I last week finally bit the bullet and got a brand new Monoprice Stage Right (I call it a Stage Fright) 15 watt tube amp. I actually gigged with it, not knowing what to expect, and It blew me away how good it sounded. It was a pretty small venue, and the other guitarist was using a Blackstar 40 watt amp. This little Stage Right amp, although looking kinda small, and cheap looking, it kept up with that Blackstar at every turn, and if it weren't for the size of the cab, (small for a 12" speaker), would sound a LOT like a Vox AC15. (it kinda does anyway) As it is, it sounded fantastic! I really hope it is a reliable amplifier, because even at $249.00 (before tax), it's a real steal. I'm thinking of mothballing my Marshall DSL40C, and getting another one of these Monoprice 15 watt "Stage Right" amps, and using an ABY switch for channel switching from clean, to crunch. These little babies only weigh about 25 LBS. each, so are easy on the back, and sound awesome...kinda like a wolf in sheep's clothing. That's my Marshall DSL40C under the green towel, holding up the new amp.
