Today is day two actually, playing the knobs off this little girl and loving it. My Blues Junior is way too loud, this little feller is a perfect fit for a variety of things - that is - UNTIL I TURNED IT OFF.

Must have created a miniature EMP - every device within four feet of it scrambled, distorted and one stopped working until I did a reboot.

Powered speakers for my phone and tablet totally went on the fritz, as did my phone (Pixel) and my Android Cheap Ellipsis for Verizon Tablet - I sure as heck hope my pacemaker is still working.

    That was a first.

I'm now thinking I better stack it on top of my almost never in use Fender Mustang Amp far away from my computer and wifi tower, but it's gonna be close to my subwoofer for my powered computer speakers.

WTH? Has anyone else experienced this?

    This is nutz.

Sounds more like a house circuit problem than anything else. Everything plugged into the same receptacle? I'd start there.

EDIT: I will add that devices with wifi and tube amps don't always play well together in very close vicinity. Plug it in another place in the room far enough from the computer, phones, speakers, etc... See if it happens again.

Neighbors reported a flash from Skydog’s home, most however were unsure if it was an electrical anomaly...

or a faithful reproduction of the closing refrain from 2112
    [IMG]
One neighbor standing close to the fence line, waving a bic lighter over her head, kept repeating a single chant like phrase:
“God, I hope he plays Free Bird next”

(Just a little fun, no, I haven’t had a similar surge and initially setup in close proximity to computer, digital recorder, tablet and charging station. Definitely watching the thread though.)

Ha! Bought yourself a killer robot!

I'm sure your personal information, account numbers, passwords and your mother's maiden name have already been posted on the dark web.

Skynet has already dispatched a Terminator death squad to your location backed up by hoards of black helicopters.

Are those amps built in North Korea?

I was going with Whipping Post! But I was blinded by the light, then I found myself standing on an island in the stream. I woke and no Dolly. Lol that was fun.

This will kill you, but I swear it's the truth. The thing smells like the salad dressing at Olive Garden. And - the tubes do not put off that purple blue my Fenders used to.

Bed time, time to dream about Stratocasters with 11 inch radius and BF Super Reverbs'.

I'm a monoprice 15W owner and I have no idea why I would want to read this.

I'm a little confused. I love my monoprice. These amps make a little sad chirp noise when you turn them off as the caps discharge but I alway pretend that it's just sad to be shut down and just wants to keep rocking. Apparently they've evolved to becoming angry.

Sending mine back. Mine never made a chirp I could hear except while playing. I enjoyed trying it out, but lots of knob twisting never gave me what I was looking for. The short fall of internet shopping.

I would have walked away after a demo too... it’s good, very good, but just not the sound I’m after, which is what has fueled the drive to modify in my case.

Yea, its like a cheaper version of a tuner. The real version gets you accuracy within 1%. But for half price, you can get a clone that's still 95% accurate! Bargain! <g>

I have a MP15 and it's pretty great. Yes it smelled funky for a few days right out of the package like lots of things do but after the new car smell went away it has operated like a champ with no funky noises or weirdness. I love mine. I popped on some fender black chickenhead knobs and removed the stupid celestion logo and now it looks a lot nicer too. I think you must have gotten a defective one..

More experienced players than me have noted that it is very cold biased from the factory. Your guess is as good as mine why that is (maybe to assure that the tubes last long enough to pass through the warranty period?). I will bias this amp some other time, for now it's working well as is.

Mine sounds good with everything at 12:00, but sounds best when dialed in according to:
How to Quickly Dial In a Tube Amplifier
For me that ended up being something like:
    Gain: 5
Volume: 6 is the sweet spot for me
    Tone: 3
    Bass: 4
    Middle: 4
    Treble: 3.5
Reverb: Never above 7, gets too boingy
Your mileage will most likely vary.
