Well, it was a tortured week of trying to decide what I wanted, but I'm glad I landed on this little baby. I thought I wanted a 5e3 but it turned out that something with a little more British flavor was just right. The size is perfect, just 29 lbs. It's clean, not a scratch on it, looks like it's never been gigged. Got a good deal on it too -- $1,195 + tax (the mk IV sells for $2,099 new). Gets much louder than I expected with plenty of clean headroom, I doubt I'll ever feel I don't have enough amp for any gig (mic'ed through the PA for outdoor jobs of course).

Enjoy the pix!

I'm glad you decided not to settle for something you didn't really want and to pursue something you really did want. Congratulations. Enjoy!

Congratulations Tony! Richard Goodsell makes some of the coolest amps on the planet. You will have a LOT of fun with that one. Did you get that at Emerald City?

No I got it at the Seattle Guitar Store. Nice store but kind of out of my way (I live in Kent), it was my first purchase there but I'd definitely go back. They have a great selection of pro-level guitars, amps and effects at reasonable prices. I love Emerald City, but I don't really belong there if you know what I mean! ;-)

Cool. The Guitar Store is about 4 blocks from my house. Those guys are always a pleasure to deal with. So far I haven't bought anything more substantial than some pedals and tubes from them but I will try to rectify that before long. Have a great time with that Goodsell.

Cool. I talked to Richard about building me one a little while back. My house won't let me have any extra scratch lately to let me get one.

Very nice! I'm glad it all worked out for you. I've learned from my own experiences that if you aren't 100% happy with your purchase on day one, the things that bother you will only get worse with time.

Nice amp and a wise choice to follow your ears and not your heart.

I have a big tweed that's too loud to push into OD. Lately I've been plugging in pedals such as a Catalinbread DLS MkIII. I'm thinking I prefer a little British flavoring myself.

Congrats! I'd been gigging w/ Super 17s for years, (most recent Mk IV w/ WGS G12c/s) absolutely my favorite amps. A bit more versatile than a 5e3, IMHO, but I'm biased.

Looks like a Goodsell week here at the TDPRI, I just landed a Model 1958.

Congrats! I haven't played the Super 17, but I somehow ended up with both the prototype and an early production GC12 and they're fantastic.

Richard has also been very generous with advice and answers to questions. He truly loves his work, and enjoys seeing people enjoy it as well.

Wow...very handsome color scheme.
Richard definitely knows his was around a guitar amp chassis.
I predict years of future enjoyment shall come your way.:)

I've got a Goodsell 6V6 MkIV (5e3-ish) and in my experience the Super 17 cuts through the stage mix better than the 6V6. The 17 is a couple watts more but the full mid range (EL84) vs. scooped mids (6V6) makes the biggest difference.

That's awesome, Tony -- a smokin' deal on a terrific amp. I've been playing a Mk3 for about 5 years and love it. I've never felt I needed any more volume on any stage, and it's great at low volumes, too. Have fun with it.
