Very nice. I have always wanted (never needed) one of those. I don’t even have a good reason to have one. Still want one.
Same here. I like the early Gretsch look. I also have another amp from the line, and love it.

Knowing Mike Campbell has been seen on stage with one doesn’t make me want one less.

I’ve got one too, a standard brown one. It’s a cool sounding amp with a big sound. I have always had a Luxury Drive pedal in front of the input, almost since Day 1, and it makes it just that much fatter. I like having a 15” speaker in a guitar amp - not something you see a lot.

I would welcome an explanation of this circuit. I am unfamiliar with how this solid state ‘IRF’ device is wiggling the signal.
Not sure if this helps, as it's leagues beyond my understanding. But Googling around kicked up this:

"Seems like reducing R15 should work. The bias modulation of the trem signal is basically divided in half by the two 470K resistors going to the oscillator versus the 470K resistors going from the output tubes grids to ground."
Post #2 here: https://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=18401.0

Post #4 says: "The mosfet at the output of the trem circuit is like a cathode follower tube stage."

And some of your wizards' reverse engineering could explain post 6:
"I wired in a 1m pot in place of C15 and Bam! I get a full range of just a smidge to deep deep swamp."

Ditto this link:

I hope that's useful. Your take on this would be very interesting, Wally.

A steel guitar engagment.
I've been looking for something to try this speaker in. I got it on CL a few years ago and it's just sitting in a box. Anybody have any experience with on of these? It's a 15" too.

Not here
There is the schematic

I love mine.

Jumping the Acc & Guitar input and plugging into the Mic in the middle.
Dark side of the tone.

Just what I wanted in an amp.

If you pull that magnet cover off, you will find a ceramic magnet. You might like it…or not. Try it.
I had it off when I bought it and I can't swear to what magnet is there but this old thread and a Jensen chart said it was Alnico. EDIT: Chart on post #34.

Roscoe, I have no experience with this amp….I have never seen one.
Simple circuit, cathode biased output, 1x15”…I would probably like it.
Thanks, Wally.

I've read, in several forums, that it resembles a 6G3. Does that seem accurate to you?

Having never played an actual 6G3, I can't gauge that. But it would explain the similar tonal and attack dynamic qualities of these two circuits that I hear when A/B'ing them via YouTube clips (recognizing the many variables involved in such things).

Maybe that's just the power of suggestion now, but I remember thinking of Brownface amps when I first heard these. Even more so once they got the (much) cleaner Eminence 1518 in them.

Thanks.

Well, the 6G3 has fixed Biasing, so that will render a different sonic, ime.

I stand corrected. My experience with theLM Jensen’s has been with 12”.
