Wow! What a dark amp, not much midrange colour on this one; there is a treble boost but it adds to the scooped frequency response. This one was a floor model so it probably was put straight into overdrive out of the box and likely the new Celestion 10” speaker was not gently seated in from the start; also it has a very noticeable 60hz hum. (By comparison, my Pro Junior IV (no floor model) is whisper quiet with colourful midrange and more touch sensitive).

Still, the 007 is a worthwhile practice amp for home use, with gradual volume and gain taper allowing for convincing overdrive at lower volume.

I liked the 007 I played. The whole series is different sounds. I really liked the 18/30, but it's a bit large compared to deluxes.

007 gets lots of positive reviews for a reason, congrats.

These are cool I tried one before getting my Orange.

60hz Hum is going to be more present with any amp that has more gain available just cause it's getting amplified more. The Bassbreakers I tried didn't seem like they had an objectionable amount considering the gain they have.

If I use my clean channel on my Orange it's pretty easy to control the 60hz noise without any help but gain up the dirty channel and it's a lot more present. Compared to the Pro Junior the Bassbreaker has more gain right? It's a lower headroom design.

BTW if it's single coil noise I use an EHX Hum Debugger and it totally nukes that particular noise. This pedal seems like it got tarred and feathered at the Gear Page when it came out but my conjecture is maybe EHX silently updated newer ones.. I don't really have any of the artifacts in mine that people complained about when it first came out. I got mine in 2017, most people seem to have made up their mind about them before 2010, I don't think it's that unreasonable to think EHX may have fixed something quietly in a decade of production.

I end up left over with a white noise/hiss that you can only hear at loud volumes/high gain levels. (Pedals often add this type of noise too)

That white noise/hiss is not audible at all if you're playing on a stage.

This makes me want to just stick with my Pro Junior and not bother with the Bassbreaker...

Yah, they’re two different animals. I was able to break in the Pro gently and just right, it has a lot of colour and harmonics going on with good pickups at clean low volume.

For gain at lower volume the 007 is good so I’m lucky to have both.

I don't know which has more, but I played a 007 in a shop and though it had very little gain. Could easily be modded for more by someone who knows what they're doing even without a schematic. I bet not all the cathodes have bypass caps.

I played a bassbreaker007 in store and found it to have almost no 60 cycle hum. I wasn't running the gain hot though.

Also played a pro jr same store same day and it had massive 60 cycle hum.

Go figure

It wasn't clean, but it wasn't that dirty (medium or low/med gain with the knob at max), and kind of bassy but I didn't mess with the eq that much.
