Congratulations. It looks great. I bet it sounds awesome. I’ve always wondered why Fender has never produced a hand wired Princeton Reverb.

LOL. I should have clarified: a modern "custom" or reissue of the classic handwired models. :D

"Kitten Abrasion Slight Head Cold" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

You must be young. My original 68 Princeton Reverb Dripedge and all Blackface and Silverface ones were always hand wired!!!!!!!!

I believe Fender is now offering a hand wired '64 PR.

No, I’m pretty damn old. I posted a clarification: I was meant a handwired reissue.

So I had a Tone Tubby Red alnico on the shelf, but…
The amp's cabinet is not deep enough to handle the Red.

Tone Tubby recently introduced a set of low profile alnico speakers so I ordered an Orange Crush. It uses a 34 oz magnet and the same hemp cone as the Red.
I should have it in hand in a week or so.

The stock speaker is nice, an Eminence ceramic magnet "Fender Special Design".
I just prefer the tone of an alnico magnet pumping a hempcone.

Oh, and I also swapped tubes, removing the stock Groove Tubes and replacing them with Gold Lions.
I have the Gold Lion 6V6's in a couple of other amps and love their tone... fuller, rounder, richer than others I've tried.

    More to come…

Congrats on your new amp. I bet it sounds wonderful. I too love the brown tolex Fender amps and I settled for the 65 Princeton Reverb reissue in brown. :)

We talked about this amp about a month ago, thrilled to hear that somebody has taken the plunge. I have been very tempted by this amp and look forward to hearing your thoughts as the honeymoon wears off.
