The amp arrived a couple of hours ago.
It's beautiful and very well made.

I've only played it for a half hour or so and at first blush I'll say I'm quite impressed.
The tremolo is to die for and I love having a 12" speaker after years of playing through the 10" Celestion Gold I have in my Princeton Reverb.

Beyond the speaker difference, the 62 Princeton has a different fundamental tone.
There's a hint of tweed in there.
The tremolo is to die for... thick and syrupy.
I have it set pretty low, but it's capable being dialed up to machine gun level.

The 12" ceramic magnet Eminence speaker will have to be played a bit.
I have a decided preference for alnico magnets.
I'll play it stock for a spell then maybe try a Tone Tubby Red I have on the shelf.

With that said, I don't know if there's adequate depth to the cabinet to handle the TT Red.
I dunno, maybe with the tube cage removed.

So far I love it, but, I just opened the box.
It’s the first night of the honeymoon!

Lucky guy! I was tempted too. But I am dying for a Magnatone Panoramic stereo, and you cannot get them all I guess ;)
    Enjoy!

Congrats! I guess you are now a 2-Princeton family.

but one would have to see some photographic evidence to properly assess.

..and yeah, your new Princeton is the non-reverb flavor, based on brownface 6G2, so it should sound different than whatever PR you have, speakers notwithstanding. there's folks here who can explain the differences way better than I can - chances are you could, too.

If you indeed have such a critter...I mean really, no photos?

Well done. I've been thinking about this amp for a while. Please let us know how you get on with the single tone control.

    Congrats.

Congrats, you may be the first member on this site with the new brown Princeton.
Pictures are required in all NAD’s.

Do you think it will have enough headroom to gig with if the band maintains a reasonable stage volume level?

    Jealous!

I wrote this in another thread about the new '62 Princeton, but I'd love a chance to A/B/Y with my 1970 non-Reverb Princeton with a 12" CRex speaker.

I called the police and told them about this thread... they demanded photographic evidence.

Just kidding, nice amp! Enjoy it!

It is definitely an amp that I’d like to have a chance to check out sometime. Until then, I’ll live vicariously through you! HNAD!

I’m going to check one out tomorrow that one of my local dealers has. If it’s as nice as he’s told me, it’ll probably be coming home with me. :D

    Oh, and congrats on yours.

Congrats! If I could swing another amp right now, that one would likely be it. It’s definitely high on the list. Thanks for the info and please share more as you spend time with it.

    Yeah, I know... photos required.
Today was a busy work day. I barely had time to pick up the amp and plug in briefly.
Tomorrow is fully booked with work.
Hey, I have to work to pay for the toys.
But here's the real irony... I've been a professional photographer for 50 years!
    Pictures will come on Thursday...

Too soon to tell as I've had about 30 minutes of play time available to me today and tomorrow is booked solid from dawn to dusk.
Thursday afternoon will be my first chunk of free time in a week and a half!
