    1983 JCM800 50w Combo.

Sounds simply amazing. Even like the reverb.

Traded into it today. Just got back from rehearsal tonight. Blown away.

Recorded our last album playing all the tracks through the studio’s SFDR and again through the studio’s early 212 JCM800.

Haven’t been able to get that JCM sound out of my head since, and when a local shop got one, I ran in to try it and grab it. Very happy I did.

I think new amps are just as fun as new guitars :)

    Congratulations!

Noyce!! That's a screamer of an amp. I have a 1980's SS Lead 20 that I've owned since the early 90's that nails that JCM tone as good as a solid state can. I've been casually keeping my eye out for a similar JCM combo without much luck. I may need to accelerate that from a casual to determined search after this.:lol:

That right there is the perfect amp for playing pedal steel bends on a Super Strat...

I think it's a 1x12" version of a 4212. The controls look like a 2205 head. I gather the 4212 is the 2x12" combo of the 2205, but the 1x12" number escapes me.

I don’t actually know the model. There is only one input jack if that helps. And yes, 112.

But hefty!! Size of a DR but maybe 55lb and balanced very awkwardly so “fun” to carry.

These split-channel reverb JCM800 amps are quite different from their JCM800 stablemates. I recently went through a 100watt split channel reverb head...Md. 2210.
I am going to think that the last two digits of the model numbers for the combos indicate the speaker size but not how many speakers. In the case of the 1x12 and 2x12 combos, I don’t think there will be a model number difference. I could be wrong.

The Model number is on the back panel, iirc...as with most Marshalls from the JCM800 series on back.

I’ll have to look next time I’m at our rehearsal space.
