I traded a partscaster that I recently built for a Carr Mercury 8 watt amp today. A lot of us trade, up or down, just because we want something new to play (with) and screw with. We both feel like we won on this deal, this amp is insane. He loves the Telecaster. The attenuated feature in this amplifier makes it 8 watt, 2 watt, .5 watt, or 1/10th watt. In the 8 watt mode, it's pretty friggin' loud. Nice breakup.

I just got it home and I've been screwing around with it. I love it so far, but you real players know what I mean about new gear. We're always chasing tone. I think it's like Christmas morning every time I get a new toy.

    Very well done!

We can assemble T types, but I can't build an amp like that. I think you did superbly.

Whoah. Nice! I'd like to play around with that for awhile. It sounds like you did great on this trade

He was asking $1495.00 for the amp on CL so I think I did well.

It was a nice guitar, nonetheless.

I talked to Steve Freund years ago up in Sacramento He was playing through a Carr that was the cleanest sounding amp ever I heard. Just Wow. Congrats I think you made a nice trade.

Did you "accidentally" win a great sunburst MJT body in auction some time ago? Is that the one you traded?

Congratulations on the new amp! I'm jealous!

Yes! I built this out of that body, but the guitar I traded off was a different one...the white one.

Here's the sunburst and the traded off one...... Ke2+HK57Twm%zWNJ%yoarg.jpg

I'm really digging the Carr amplifier. It's a nice piece. Here's a picture of it actually back at my own home...It DOES haul ass!

You done good! I really like the look of both those Teles, but the sunburst was so pretty that I didn't much like the idea of you having to trade that one away. Also, I really like that wide-panel tweed you've got there.

And back to the scheduled programming: I'm jealous of your Carr amp! Enjoy!

I always wanted to try one of these ... sadly they can't be found anywhere close to where I live!

Sweet deal, congrats and always nice when both sides win.

Would love to try that map... Bet it sounds glorious.

Congratulations. The Carr Mercury is truly an excellent amp. Eight of the best sounding watts you'll come across.

Yes!! What a great amp, if I find a Mercury V or a Sportsman for the right price she is mine!

I was fortunate enough to test drive the Mercury a few years ago. It is a stellar piece. Enjoy!

The Carr is a well thought out amp with a triple boost switch and the 4 way power attenuator. Great big reverb and it's built really well.

Very high quality. It's a work of art.
