I finally have in my possession my dream amp. Presenting the Little Walter Tube Amps “Hipster”! Ten watts of pure tube tone, wrapped in a brown western Tolex cabinet with a cane grill. Thank you Phil Bradbury. Oh, by the way, Phil names all his amps. This one is “Tempie” in honor of my wife.

I was just thinking about you earlier today.
A poster was buying an Epi 339 P90 and wanted to know if anyone else had one.
Is your new amp based on a known design, as most are, or something revolutionary?

Probably the least appropriate amp for the genres I mainly play, yet nonetheless I gaze upon it with lust and desire.

Thanks everyone. A little more information and to answer a couple of questions, yes, it’s a 12” speaker. A George Alessandro Eminence. As to the circuit, you’d have to ask Phil Bradbury who built the amp. I’m guessing it shares some of the circuitry you’d find in a Champ or other tweed era amp but that’s just a guess. What i do know is this. Phil hand builds all his amps with true point to point wiring, no circuit, tag or turret boards. This one is a single ended circuit with a 6V6 supplying the power. Preamp tube is an ECC83 (12AX7) and the rectifier is a 5Y3. The color combinations are almost endless, with red, green, black, cream, tweed and more available. Phil told me this was one of the most beautiful amps he’s ever done and I can believe it. The pictures do not do it justice. Yes, it’s f*^ck#n beautiful.

I had a chance to play it for a few minutes before my wife got home from vacation. It sounds as good as it looks. It’s also a loud 10 watts. But the tone is awesome.

And I figure if a Little Walter amp is good enough for Vince Gill to use on tour with the Eagles, it’s good enough for me.
