Those endorsement deals are just like that! I spoke with the man who played with him and he said the George Benson guitars that get sent out to him are the same as the production models but the luthier takes extra time for his specific setup. I sat there for two hours listening to this guy play and tell me all about his life and different old songs.

keep wearing him down and I’m sure it wi be yours :D

I use a Helix + JBL studio monitors as a my rig but I’ve had this thing at the back of mind about longevity and wanted to get a nice old tube amp while they where still around and affordable enough for a regular dude.

Nope not at all, lift with your knees and hold the amp to your chest with two hands!

I’m 25 and still pretty fit and strong plus I work as a postal worker picking up boxes and heavy stuff all day which has made me lift better.

Nice! My main amp the past 20+ years has been a '73 Silverface Twin and I love it. While being very clean with a ton of headroom it still has a very full and robust sound. A nice side benefit of SF Twins is that maintenance and repair tend to be fairly inexpensive. Enjoy!

Congratulations on that fine amp! I own a '71 also and have played it everywhere, including my home at clean, bedroom levels. You'll never be sorry you bought that amp. I'm almost 69 years old, and can still easily lift and carry mine wherever I need it to go. Take good care of that amp and it will take good care of you.

Yeah but I bet it'll sound good! Heck, we used to lug the beauties around all over the place back in the day. His back won't hurt until his later years. Until then he'll enjoy it. :)

Yeah, good players ... lost my best friend who was also a drummer about a year before that. That's what happens when you get old, brother. Everyone your age is making their bucket lists.

Awesome deal. Those transformers are special. And an open back Twin cab sound can only be made by an open backed Twin cab. You might consider having it checked out after a while, in case a cap or two have drifted, or other item could restore full performance.

One step ahead of you, dropped of to the amp tech today who opened it up and talked me through everything he noticed. The filter caps have been redone with spruages and a lot of work has been done well by his eye.

I’ll be getting it back in a month after she gets her full treatment.

Maybe I've said here already, but I like Twin Reverbs.

Don't know the technical reason but the beat up ones always sound better. :)

They absorb that pain and give it back in tone, kinda like the blues.

I love the sound of a twin reverb and gig'd one for many years.

With four 6L6's its also a good heater. On cold nights I had to stop people using it as a bum warmer.

    Enjoy yours!
