Went to buy a new guitar today and picked up another Les Paul and a ‘73 Fender Vibrolux Reverb. This one appears to be pretty clean with Jensen RI AlNico’s inside.

Guess that I kind of like VR’s, I think that this is my 8th or 9th BF or SF VIbrolux Reverb.

Not home yet, so just some photos of the amp in the back of my car.

I saw Old 97's play last night, and all night there was a silver vibrolux on a riser next to the lead guitar player's matchless. I wondered if it was a two amp setup. Then near the end of the set the guitar player's son came up on stage to play with the band -- he had just relocated to the city show was in and the vibrolux was for him. It was pretty sweet

Best amp Fender ever made for versatility and tone. Loud when you need it, sweet all the way up the dial. Had one in blonde tolex. I was torn between it and the Deluxe. The Vibrolux went home with me. There's something I like about 2x10 speakers vs 1x12.

Very nice. It looks stunning for its age. Enjoy it. I am sure you will. I think the VR in my opinion one of Fenders best amps. But you already know that! Congratulations!

Posted quite a bit about finding a 1979 VR at a pawnshop a little over a year ago, paying $250 for it, since it was inoperative. Two new speakers and a tech visit for a cap job and a rectifier tube socket replacement ($400 for all), and I have one of the sweetest amps I've ever owned.

I really, really need to find one again. Mine was stolen several years ago and I’m realizing it was my favorite non-tweed Fender bar none.

Congratulations and it looks like it’s in great shape.

That one was a beauty.
Thanks! It was a sweet Ebay score. Some clown had put a black faceplate on it and replaced the original grill cloth with some black fabric. I found an original silver faceplate on Ebay and the late Larry Rodgers supplied a proper new grille frame & aged grille cloth. It still had most of it's original tube set, but they had the reverb tubes reversed. The seller said there was something wrong with the reverb...there was! Easy fix. Still had the original electrolytics. Did a recap and VOILA, tone heaven!
