I enjoy grocery shopping. I go at least 3 times a week. I know everyone at the market and it’s a social thing.
Did you forget to get the senior shopping vaccination? I know there are a lot of vaccinations we are supposed to take as we age, but the SSV is really important.
Nowadays we don't use personal pronouns.

I do most of the cooking, and my little darling has no interest in grocery shopping, so I buy whatever I want to eat that week. Fortunately she’s not too fussy and I’m a decent cook so it works out ok. Although a bonus for me is that I will eat things she’d never even touch.

Here at our Fred Meyer's (Kroger's) they used to stock shelves mostly after hours with store employees. Now, they have contracted it out to another party who does it during the day. They work on a "by SKU" basis--meaning the faster they stock, the more they make. They will flat run over you if you get in their way and will TOTALLY block the aisles while they shelve the groceries.The other downside to those online order fillers that hasn't been mentioned, is there are times I go to my local Wallymartworld, and you can't get down an isle because those order fillers have it blocked with their big (oversized) carts. They seem to hire people who can't "pull over" to one side.....they have to stop in the very middle of the isle. Plus, they're oblivious to "real" shoppers, and resent moving out of the way. I'm sure there are customers who need the online shopping, but many are just lazy. Don't complain if they get an order wrong, if you could have simply walked in and done it RIGHT.

I'm not there yet. I just go to appease TOWMBO. If I really don't wanna go, I say something like, "Sure, but I need to stop by Lowe's too.". She'll insist we go separately then. Then I just order whatever I was after off Amazon.

Did you not pay the deposit upfront? You gave them a free loan. Sounds like you lost.

Whenever I worked afternoons, I would stop at the the 24 Meijers and pickup up stuff we needed. It was usually around 01:00 am. I loved it. Almost no one in the store, except all the midnight stocker guys. You had to watch your step though. There was stock and pallets everywhere. The checkout lines were fast too. The only thing is you had to watch out for the some of the crazies that only come out at night.
Well, it's not like asking somebody if they wear Depends, and....Have they changed them lately?Why?.....does that get too personal ?
Let me check the math, the guy has $113 he didn't have before. Hmmm, I wish I could lose $113, a 113 times. I could buy me a Tuff dog, and pay the deposit on it.

Had he not cashed them in, he would NOT have had the money. Besides that, they won't let you have the bottle if you don't pay the deposit, that's just how it is.

You're spending too much time with your "the more you spend, the more you save" wife.
Yeah, we did some of that during the Troubled Times, because it would be nice and quiet. And there'd be crazy discounts on the baked goods that didn't sell that afternoon - but all the specials on fresh vegetables would be sold out and the fresh fish department was closed.
I want to apologize for sounding like an idiot shopper, plowing through the maze of shopping carts (which my girlfriend insists is not true) but I do get peeved at the Unaware 30 year old Woman Shopper with her 3 Unaware Kids who make it their mission in life to block aisles in an NFL style formation or appear to think they're the only ones in the store. I really don't mind if an elderly shopper needs time to negotiate the aisle in front of me, but I give a Full Fail to parents who don't teach their offspring situational awareness.

Target has my wife caught in that infinite loop of always having a gift card to use. She will say she is going because she has a card to use. Then she comes home with a new one. So she has to go because she has a card to use. Then she will come home with a new one.
