Ah, I was 25 and on some tripped out neon new-wave meets electro-goth-metal journey which required me to have a guitar like this:

Anyhow, times change, turning 31 soon, and just bought this closet-relic tele from a luthier I've known for a while:

Tastes sure do change! Although i still like the same music as i used to, I'm very much aesthetically these days on a vintage or steampunk wavelength, buying antique furniture and the like.

I'm going to be converting it into another esquire, white 3ply pickguard and a nice scatterwound pickup. Unsure on whether to go original or Eldred wiring, thoughts?

Anyhow, i reckon these two will look really nice next to one another, a reckless rebel next to her classy aunt.

I definitely reckon folks will like the look of them both when placed next to one another, the whole green/pink white/black reflection thing going on :)

Also i like the versatility, the pink has a humbucker and the esquire will have a 50's style scatter wound, so they'll sound pretty different.

You don't even need an amp for the top one to be loud  Seriously, nothing wrong with either one of those, you've got fine examples of apposite sides of the Tele spectrum.

I'm going on 31 too, and the things I find aesthetically pleasing now are so far from what I liked when I was 25. Back then most any guitar I was interested in had to be very modern, usually black, and sport a headstock that could impale a buffalo. Last guitar I bought was an Olympic white 62RI Strat, and before that 2 vintage style Teles, funny how we change with time.

But wait... is not the pink one an Esquire, since there's only one pickup (and not a humbucker that I can see), while the relic'd guitar is an actual Telecaster?

Either way, I think the hot pink Esquire looks fine. Seems to be an actual Fender there... is it?

    Love the blue one.
Since I've got 24 years of "experience" on you, I'm going to do what old guys like to do....offer free advice.

As you mature , you will learn to love the tele neck pickup. So keep it.

That being said, an esquire is on my to-build list to join my 2 teles.
