My Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan comic. The Full eighty Percent. In full.

Well, over the last two years, I posted several threads about me doing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan comic. And for the most part people have been very enthusiastic and have been asking me for either a link which has it in full or to keep them updated when I have new pages.

So I figured with an audience on the TDPRI, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to start posting the full thing here.

But first, here's a clip which shows which version of the TMNT (As there have been many over the years) my comic is meant to be a continuation of.

So please watch this clip before reading my comic, it will make understanding it so much easier.

And with that, let me post the first ten pages.

I shall update this thread daily and with over 200 pages, it will give you guys a lot of reading material.

Well, here's the first update, with another ten pages. You might notice them being larger than the first batch of pages, since increasing the size allowed me to add in more details.

It is customary for Manga to start a new chapter with a page in full color but there's also another reason why I did this.

I want to include one of my favorite tropes of the original series: which is for the Turtles to watch a cartoon series on TV which is a wink to well known Cartoon series.

So here we have "Gator Tooth Sphere" which is a hybrid between "Dragon Ball" and "Avatar the Last Airbender" and true to form, I included a lot of pun names.

- Prince Oohrahn from planet Youteng.
I guess that explains itself: Orangutan.
He's basically Vegeta and Prince Zuko combined into one person. But as a joke, he wears Son Goku's colors. Seeing as how Vegeta started out a space pirate who conquered worlds and as a reference to Zuko's scarred face, I gave him an eye patch.

- Mahalo or to use his Megapteran name Cachalot
Is the combination of Son Goku and Avatar Aang.
"Mahalo" is Hawaiian for "Thank you" while "Cachalot" in addition to sounding like "Kakkarot" is a Sperm whale. I had been breaking my head over what to do with Aang's arrow tattoo, since that is a very recognizable part of his look. How would I adapt that? And all of a sudden I had it: I would place twin arrow Tattoos on both sides of his head.

- Megapteran empire. "Megaptera" is the Latin name for a Humpback whale.

- King Orcinus.
Orcinus Orca is the Latin name for a killer whale.

And here's the third batch

Here's the reason why Donnie was blushing in the first page of the story when his new Mutant was ready.

Mikey and Casey are still watching "Gator Tooth Sphere" our Dragon Ball Z and Avatar the Last airbender hybrid. I guess everybody will recognize the scene, it comes from "The boy in the iceberg" Aang wakes up and asks Katara if she wants to go penguin sledding with him.

Negen is Katara and Tenshinhan put together into one person. The name "Negen" is an impossible to translate word joke here. Tenshinhan's American name is "Tien" and the word "Tien" in the Dutch language means "Ten". "Negen" is the Dutch word for "Nine"

That poor, Zeck clone...

A salute to Uma Thurman in "Pulp Fiction"

And once again I had a field day with the Easter eggs here.
- CLAM TV is obvious: MTV, it even sounds similar.
- Total Live Request is the long running MTV show Total Request Live. I even parodied their logo but with the R and the L switched around.
- The Billboard opposite the MTV building in Times Square sits above a Foot Locker store. I depicted it how it is in real life but made it "Boot Rocker" instead.
- Carlton Bailey, that one is obvious, it's Carson Daly, I worked with pictures to get his look right.
- In the first panel, there's a Daria logo, since I made a lot of Daria fan art and comics and it's what I'm best known for.
- The Wild Romance is a real band, albeit one who never broke big in America.

In the current on going TMNT series by IDW comics, Old Hob said to Slash that a Mutation feels like going through a sausage maker, you go in one thing and come out something completely different. I liked that analogy and so I decided to use it here.

The scene of Raph is a direct tribute to that famous scene of X-men the "Dark Phoenix saga." After Wolverine was defeated by Harry Leland of the Hellfire club who at first crushed him by increasing his weight to several tons which then send him through the floor of the building into the sewer.

Wolvie emerges and growls the same thing Raph says here.

Life is all about choices: Michelangelo just saw the Chris Bradford clone perform a feat of heroism, does he choose to take the risk and leave Casey in Bradford's care?

And the Bradford clone has a choice of his own: is he a Hero or not?

Time to introduce this story's equivalent of THE SHREDDER

In many Japanese shows and anime, there are moments where the cast are heard speaking English, but doing so phonetically and often pronouncing words with a loud "Uh" or "Oh" sound. In Internet jargon this is known as "Engrish" as the L and the R are interchangeable in Japanese.

Now if you find yourself in Japan and people refer you to as "Kuso Gaijin" you can bet your "Ketsu" that they're NOT happy with you!

Time for Kuro to lay down the law on the Tanaka sisters but they have an Ace in the hole: a third sister!

And so we continue. "The forgotten swordsman" is by far one of the greatest episodes of the 2012 series, if only because of it revealing so much of Karai's past in Japan.

Toshiro is Karai's sensei from the IDW comic book series of TMNT, he is the polar opposite of Tatsu and I could see the two of them clashing over Karai's training.

It was fun depicting the guys as humans. I had Flea of the Red Hot Chili peppers in mind when coming up with human Raph.

After ten pages of not having drawn a single turtle it was time to break the status quo.

So Michelangelo and the Bradford clone made a mistake, can they put it all right again?

I put in a little joke with the name the Bebop clone is using here, since it's customary to give medical staff in cartoons German names, I wonder how many people who read this comic know what "Kartoffeln" are...

The reason why Raphael is reacting this negatively on the Fish's mutation is because he used the DNA of the most notorious character of the series.

The Puliverizer, who was this fanboy who dressed up in a Turtle costume and went on vigilante missions without any fighting ability. It ended really badly for the unfortunate guy. So I ended up taking pity on the guy and made him come back as Raphael's fish mutants.

A little joke here with the Xever clone, the X-29 is a fighter plane prototype with forwards facing wings.

The Kanji is real, it says "Kuso!" which is Japanese for "S#!t!"

Yes, I know, it's corny to put in Scooby Doo jokes. But it's fun all the same, a nice way to make this very dramatic scene a little more lighthearted.

Writing Kraang Subprime's meltdown was so much fun, I could just hear Gilbert Gottfried's voice just ranting away.

Cool. I had a cartoon crush on April. And to this day I turn the water off when I brush my teeth because Raf did a PSA about not wasting clean water. Turtles fight with honor.

There's a couple of crossover episodes where the 2012 turtles meet and fight together with their 1987 counterparts, establishing that they are in the same canon.

"You're just like ME dude!"

It results in a couple hilarious scenes, most notably when the modern day Leonardo gets frustrated with 1987 Leonardo shouting "Turtles fight with honor" and "Turtle Power!" and NOT having the fighting capabilities to back those catchphrases up.

"TURTLE PO... errr... I mean GET HIM!"

Regardless, modern day Leonardo does shout "TURTLE POWER" as he and his counterpart attack Krang together.

And Krang will appear in my comic, but before he does, let's get back into the action. And we'll start with a classic Shredder scene.

But this Shredder is actually dangerous.

Throughout his time in Japan, Leo has kept his true ancestry a secret, something that Tsunami who can read Auras picked up upon straight away.

And so we continue.

Okay THIS was a lot of work. Kuro is doing a Vyvian of the "Young ones" in the first ever appearance of that character in that series' first episode. Also, the apartment where this scene takes place is my own apartment.

Chris Bradford in this series is a corrupt action hero who was Shredder's right-hand man, he looks like Chuck Norris as you can see. I figured he'd be the lead actor in superhero movies and this Captain America shield is a nod to those eighties action flicks.

And here we are again.

As I showed in page 93, Tsunami can see in somebody's Aura if they're about to be born and if they're going to die. She saw death coming, now it's revealed WHO'S death she saw coming.

April's shock at Tsunami's revelation is cut short when yet another thing happens. (Been a while since I drew all three of the Tanaka sisters.)

Konami decides to set a plan in motion.

The Turtles aren't the only ones ready to put some plans into action. Yes, "less bulky" is my excuse for not having to draw Kraang Subprime's usual expanded Irma suit, since it's such a PAIN!

Here's Karai charging at her clones, it's a direct tribute to Kevin Eastman's work for "TMNT Artobiography"

There's a very big hint in what's about to happen in the way I depicted Karai here.

So onto the story itself.

Karai is still a girl in her twenties and there's nothing more grating to girls that age than somebody stealing your look.

And yeah with thousands of clones now walking around having that look, she has to change it.

Ask and angler how much effort it takes to pull a carp from the water, those fish put up a very big fight.

Now imagine that relative power into a human body...

And introducing Karai's new outfit.

God this page was so much fun to do. Having proven herself a world-class seamstress, Caroline gets her first glimpse into human habits. Such as Raphael sarcastically teasing Karai about being Leo's main squeeze and genuinely being surprised when Karai isn't jumping for joy, like Raph said she would.

Any of you familiar with the series will know that Karai and Leonardo take "Flirt-fighting" to the next level, each time they meet up, their swords are drawn, and they banter like a married couple.

Now, that fish girl hasn't been human for very long. But, the same thing can also be said about Leonardo, and dressing in a way that makes him look good is a concept completely alien for him, something Karai is very quick to point out.

And here's where the story takes a very dark turn, as Baxter Stockman finds out that the deal with the Kraang is a bit hazardous to his health.

Kraang Subprime DOES make a good point here, why should they spare the Riviera when Terraforming the planet? Well, I guess it's obvious where the fourth panel came from, it's my salute to the famous scene of Bane breaking Batman.

Well it's curtain call for Baxter Stockman, or is it really?

Okay, I'll admit it, I was laughing out loud when I thought of this scene. It also fits in with the TMNT series to put in Easter Eggs, so what is VERY clearly a Poké ball wouldn't look out of place in the series. Not to mention Mikey using Ash Ketchum's signature catchphrase.

Ordering 200 pizzas, gah this was so much fun to write.

And please leave some comments you guys, it takes me so much time to work on these and it's rewarding to see when people like what I'm doing.

Page 150. In the IDW series, Baxter Stockman made cyborg mutant flies which are completely bad ass. So I figured that it would be cool in incorporate them in my story too but different from those fly mutants, mine are the size of a fly, a perfect spying device.

Time for a new chapter.

So what DO we know about Yarruhk so far?
- She's to all purposes Baxter Stockman's reincarnation into a Karai clone
- But all the same doesn't behave like Baxter Stockman
- And also doesn't behave like a Karai clone either

Time for an in depth look at who she is.

Gah, drawing that operating room was so much work...

But fatherhood isn't the only thing on Leo's mind...

Yarruhk has taken every possibly precaution to avoid being discovered, but it only takes one single missed detail which will bring the thing down...

This is the third attempt to make a chapter page, the first two tries didn't come out the way I intended, so I do what I always do when stuck, I reach for my Batman comics. I used the title page of Batman the Dark Knight returns part 3 as an example. Depicting Kuro in stark black and white, which makes him look like the bad ass he is.

Picking up directly from where page 160 stopped, Kuro is putting his investigative skills to the test.

Yarruhk meanwhile reveals something that she had been practising in the beginning of the last chapter, something that the real Karai only uses as a last ditch effort and NONE of the other Karai clones can do...

So, if Yarruhk can find the Turtles' hide out, why haven't the Kraang achieved the same thing? The answer has a name: June.
