My guy was Bart Amburn or something like that. I was just contacted a couple of days ago by a new guy. Strange. Turnover in the sales guy department?

I do like Sweetwater though; never had a bad experience and they give me candy.

I've been dealing with Kenneth Lindsey and no complaints. No excessive phone calls and when I recently decided to buy my Tele, he worked out a great deal for me. They even know which candy is my favorite, so I get customized bags!

The only thing my current Sweetwater rep has done for me is explain why he and Sweetwater do not discount - they do not discount because of their “outstanding” customer service. This resulted in my purchase of 3 new guitars (heavily discounted) from another dealer who has provided good service.

My previous Sweetwater rep was outstanding - no pressure and excellelent service. He got promoted due to this (great for him, not so much for me). I still look him up every year at Gearfest and he still offers great advice with zero pressure to buy.

I was told Sweetwater does not allow one to switch sales reps. Their loss.

I’ve dealt with Sweetwater and they were easy enough to deal with. But I think their big thing about an inspection is just hot air.
I bought a Fender Jaguar MIJ back in 2011. It came with .009” I don’t like .009”. So I ask them while they were doing their big inspection, could they switch out the strings to .010”’s
They said they could, but it would be $35 extra. I said no problem go ahead with changing the strings.
When I received the guitar, it still had the .009’s on it, and the set up was so far out of whack that no one on earth who had five minutes experience setting up guitars would have missed. I doubt it had anything done to it at all.
They couldn’t refund the $35 fast enough, and that’s good. I understand that things happen no hard feelings.
I’ve found Zzsound to be an excellent online retailer and I’ve purchased 2 guitars from them in the last four years.
Point is, Sweetwater is good, but so are several others.

Josh Sackett is my guy and he's great. I've bought 3 guitars, 2 hard cases and a pedal and he's called maybe 3 times in 2 years just to make sure I was happy with the purchases.

Eversince I told my person, Rob Resnick, that my kids love the candy bag, I get 2 bags in the box in my purchases!

I buy gear from them solely... but now that they're charging tax...

I’ve been using Mike Godlove for years. I buy several items a year from Sweetwater. Guitars, PA gear, blah blah blah. Usually $2k-$4k per year.

I order online unless I have a specific question about something I can find an answer to through my own research.

I put my order in online, I get a confirmation. Mike calls and leaves a voicemail within an hour (My phone doesn’t ring, it’s always on silent and I rarely answer it. Ever.) and lets me know he got my order and it’s underway.

I get an email saying it shipped that contains tracking info. I get my stuff the next day, two tops.

Mike calls again in about a week and leaves another voicemail checking in to make sure everything arrived ok and that I’m happy with it. That’s it.

I don’t get hounded. I don’t get bothered. I think it’s great service. I love Sweetwater.

Hey Sir Dog - I didn’t realize you were back, nice to read from you again.

This is also my experience with Sweetwater, almost to the letter. My phone is on do not disturb, so f you’re not in my contact list, it won’t ring - just goes to voicemail. When I order something, they leave a voicemail and also email. On the rare occasion I need to call, I’ll talk to my sales guy if he’s there, or whoever answers if he’s not. Never had a problem either way.

But I’ve only been a customer for a couple years since I started playing a lot again, and I’m already on my third sales guy. I guess being a junior customer, I got the junior salesmen, and they’re probably the first to go. No matter - the one time I really needed help (a guitar damaged in shipping), they were right on top of it and got it resolved really quickly. I’ve ordered more little stuff from them than big stuff, but they’ve always been easy to deal with, I get stuff in two days, they have good inventory, I bought a tele from them recently and it’s nice to see what you’re getting (and choose by weight) when buying. I’m fine with them. Don’t ask me my sales guy’s name though. I think the new ones first name is Dan, no idea about the first two who moved on...

....I laugh at "sales engineer" tho. Sales guy is what goes they my head. Lol

It struck me as a bit pretentious too, but I have to say that the guy who's helped me Ryan Thorpe has been way more knowledgeable and helpful than just any random salesman for a big online company.

I haven't been bothered by calls at all. Ryan will email me sometimes when something comes up that he knows I'm interested in. Surely there must be a way to make this preference known?

I envy you guys who can put your phones on ignore. (do not disturb) Because of my responsibilities with my 93-year old mother, my 49-year old daughter, my 22-year old grandson, and a few other family members who depend on me, I cannot "ignore" any incoming call. This is why I don't give many people my cell phone number.....and it's JUST for emergencies....and a special deal on a guitar (with or without candy) does NOT constitute an emergency! ;)

James Masterson is great. Left a voicemail yesterday ordering an Eminence speaker. Called me back within 20 minutes telling me I was good to go. Got an email that my order had shipped within an hour and Sweetrack says it’ll be here tomorrow. That’s good service.

I wonder if he’s any kin to Bat?

Yeah, James is my guy too, he always takes great care of me. He always calls or emails to see if e everything is received and if I have any problems. Great guy and Sweetwater really has it together.
