God bless you duke, and iam sorry for your loss.my pit fletcher says sorry also
So sorry my friend. Turn to music to get you through this tough time. Always works for me.
Really sorry to hear that Danny. Thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thanks everyone. It really means a lot to me to hear your kind words.
The hardest part is seeing my wife struggle. we have two other dogs who are very much attached to me; Duke was definitely mama's boy.
It's evening time now here in the Pacific NW and it's all just hitting me. Been a long, Long day...
So sorry, Danny. "The only flaw dogs have is that their life is too short". I read this somewhere years ago and it's painfully true. Prayers.
Sorry to hear about your loss.
Sorry to hear about your pup.
Sorry for your loss, Danny. I hope things turnaround quickly for you.
That's really sad. Good wishes to you and your wife.
Very sorry to hear about this.
We're having some pet issues at the moment so I know how you feel.
That Poem caused emotions to just flow due to those pets loved and lost over the course of my life.
And I totally agree! I wish that dogs had the life span of humans. I really do. I have a little Shi-tzhu that was given to the family shortly before I lost the Beagle I had at the time and we all just fell in love with him immediately. He's about ten or a little bit past that age and I'm really gonna miss him so much when he passes.....
So sorry. We are serious dog people and we love our mutts more we like most people. You can never really replace a good 'un, but you'll always have those great memories.
oh man thats tough. losing a dog is always so hard.
time heals all, good luck to you.
I almost can't comment on these kind of threads, I've lost too many people and too many good dog friends along the way. I do understand the loss, I'm sorry for you, and your family. A time that is gone, is gone, no matter how long or short it was, if it was good, it was good.
I used to have working hunting dogs, I loved them. I've had family pets over the years that I truly mourn for. I have been lucky enough to have my best buddy Toto by my side going on 12 years. I treasure every day we've had together. He's like Jake, he's been a good dog.
I'm sorry you've lost a friend and hope you can relive the good memories though they were short, if they were good, they were good, you can't take away from that. I had my little dog Candy for almost 15 years, she was a lady, my good friend and I miss her now as much as I did when she passed just after Toto came to live with me. What a pair they would have made had they lived their lives during the same period of time!
I'm so sorry for your loss. You were great to take him in for the time that you did. If and when you're ready, there are tons of Pit puppies out there waiting to be rescued. Good luck.
Hey, fellas. I can't express how grateful I am for your support.
It's been a week now, and things are still hard, but it's getting a little easier.
It'd be easy to just say, 'we will just get another dog.' But I think that robs us of properly mourning and processing through the loss. No dog can take Duke's place, nor should we get one with that hope in mind.
When we are ready, we will get another pup, most likely a pit, and appreciate him or her for the dog he or she is, and not put on some lingering expectation to be a 'replacement'
So sorry !
Sorry for your loss Danny. I'm a dog lover too and have been blessed with some wonderful ones down through the years. Prayers for you my Brother.
Sorry for the loss of your pup.
