My personal home built Nocaster always had a Duncan antiquity in the neck.... and it was a great Keef style tele.... but honestly a little bland... switched it out for a +5% overwound Fralin P90 in the neck .... that is now out of phase with the Sheptone bridge pickup (which is amazing on its own by the way) and this is the tone that’s in my head... that woody cranked tweed that can clean up with the volume knob but still have a growl when you want it. Touch sensitive. This had become an afterthought in my rotation. I’m now obsessed with it.

    Thanks!

One other thing... I had always heard about how loud the hum was from a P90..... this one is silent as the grave..

Which amp do you prefer and how does it sound through that Supro BK?

I saw that burst and that strat in the background too, but that is a really cool tele!

I've never had objectionable hum from a P-90, from my 1960 Les Paul Jr, to my PRS SE One. (with a few others in between) I've experienced more "noise" from my pedal board.

Go with a straight-up blackguard, not 3 ply, and a black P90 cover for a great stealth look!

What neck is that? Allparts? The wide 12th fret dot spacing is throwing me.

I have a P90 in a 60’s Tele. I had to flip the magnets and wiring to make it RWRP. That surgery is easy on a P90. But with a 4-way switch it’s also totally worth it!

I prefer this guitar thru the Champ.... but I have to tell you the truth.. this little Supro Blues King.. it's the 1 watt.... it is a TASTY little amp... Its a little darker voiced, but not Farty at all. Plus, You can crank it and it doesn't rattle, it's very well made.

I really wanted a single ply... i settled for the 3-ply because it was all i could find... (honestly I didn't look too hard.) It is an Allparts fat neck.. its a chonk but plays really sweet.

Thank you. Might as well show the rest of the group.... that Esquire has a Brad Paisley Duncan stealth pickup under the pickguard.

I knew it was a good one, when I saw the bridge pins perpendicular to the strings and not parallel to the saddle.

That used to be one of the tells between the upper-end dove-tail Martins and the lower-middle-end mortise-tenon necks.

    That's a life long keeper.

What is that gigantic white thing on your pickguard? Kidding, I'm kidding. Glad it's your perfect tele. Very nice collection you have. Cheers!
