OMG!! You put extra screws in your guitar?!? It’s ruined now! Just ruined! You’ll never be able to sell it. How can you even look at it? You’ve dropped the value by easily 97.372%!!

You play a string, it shows you the note. You turn your peg until it's the note you want it to be. Read this post instead of the manual.

Actually, puns aside, I picked a vers 3 up a few
years ago, since it had a brighten switch for
outside stages..you could actually read it..

Some people use a tuning fork.
    Some use a piano.
    Some tune by ear.

    I tune by eye.

Why would a Boss tuner require instructions?

I use the regular clip on ( underneath) Planet Waves NS headstock tuners on my guitars love them.

But they actually make a variation that has a 'screwhole tab' on the side and comes with longer screw to replace one of the tuning machine screws.

The idea is you run this longer screw thru the NS tuner hole, then into the machine head into the existing hole, and the NS tuner swivels underneath and 'permanently' attached!

Holy Jebus! I just cracked the manual for the MD-200. No way! I’ve got the manual downloaded on my phone. I can pull it up and “embiggin” it.

More features than your average $12 clip-on.

People with clipon tuners ( even if they are attached with screws ) look like dorks on stage

Yep. These little tuners I have are Daddario clip-ons that I modified before the screw-on type were available. I cut off the clip and drilled two countersunk holes for teensy little screws. The tuner snaps in and out of this bracket to make battery changes a cinch.

I love it when people get all fashion-conscious about how they look on a guitar

Jajaja...yeah, of all of things that contribute to sloppy and poor stage appearance, the clip-on tuner is pretty low on the list. If it really is an issue, just put the tuner in one of the 13 pockets of your cargo shorts while performing.
