My band, Lone Shark, recently released our second album of original material. Thus far it has received some local airplay and I have submitted it to several places for reviews.

I'd be curious what people think of it. You can preview all of the songs on our website http://www.loneshark.net and clicking on music.

    Thanks,
    Wayne

Congratulations on the accomplishment. And it's your second? Awesome. I'm at work right but I'll get around to sampling it.
We released our first album last September. I'd love some advice from you about where you sent it to be reviewed and such like that.
    Best of luck.

Let me know what you think, I'd appreciate it. I'm "self taught" when it comes to where to send stuff. I'm always looking for new places to send. I'm in public relations so my mind goes directly to promotion, but there is no easy way. So far we have sent to various college radio music directors with mixed results but some stations are playing us. So far we have sent locally for reviews to the local music magazine, etc. there is another site called cmj.com that I submitted to. Also submit your CD to allmusic.com. Submit it to gracenote.com as well. There are probably tons of sites out there, I would like to find more, I've also set up all sorts of accounts with sites like Reverb Nation, etc.

Thanks, the two of us try and weave together all sorts of stuff, sometimes it works out. Each song, in my opinion, is at least unique from the others.

Hey, if anyone has any thoughts on places to send the CD (online or hard copy publications) that review independent music I would greatly appreciate it.

Wayne, I just finished listening to "Blow The Roof Off The Joint". Still have a lot of listening to do. But I'm likin' it so far. Old school rock with guitar solos & songs over 6 minutes long! Actually, I'm lovin' it.
I was wonderin' what I was gonna get myself for Christmas this year. And now I know.
I've checked your site a couple of times to see if you had any gigs coming up. And the last one I've seen was the Pig Roast, which is within walking distance from my house. But I had a previous commitment that day. I hope to have a chance to catch you soon.

Well, thanks a lot. I hope you enjoy the rest. Yes, the thought process on this was sort of a tribute to "old school rock" with a bit of a modern edge. I'm glad you enjoy it. We are working on some gig ideas for the near future. The CD took a lot of time and energy, and now the CD promotion. WRSU 88.7 has been playing us quite a bit and we are trying to spread out a little from there.

If anyone is interested, Bill German just reviewed our CD. Bill is best remembered as the guy who ran the Stone Fanzine for years and is a friend of the band. He wrote a book last year as well about his experiences. He was kind enough to put something together. It is currently on the front page of our website.
