my neck pickup stopped working

this tele was bought new - never been messed with - all of a sudden, the neck pickup stopped working. However, when the cover is off of the electronic area, and I touch the wiring with just a screwdriver it suddenly works. I can touch the wiring anywhere and it works. If I come back to it in an hour it's not.

You want to reflow any solder joints quickly but with plenty of heat, adding just a little new solder.

You may have a broken wire somewhere, possibly even in the pickup. But the first step is to make sure the solder is OK.

hmmm. not trustworthy eh?..well then give it to me so you can go out and get one that is

You didn’t say what guitar you have or describe the controls. If you have a S-1 switch in your circuit in there, get rid if it.

Give the switch a shot of contact cleaner and flip it back and forth a few times. That may do it.
