Normally not one to venture very far into the deep end of sonic surrealism, I have nevertheless recently begun to add a little extra 'color' to the pathetically flat noises I extract from my instruments, excreted from a variety of odd little boxes I've corralled from a variety of sources, both near, and far.

One cannot help but wonder where this might lead...or it it merely a cruel trick to lure me into the murky depths of musical depravity that has befallen so many before me?

The POD presets (alone) have always impressed me, but enthusiasts can dig deep into the edit software and find the truly weird stuff.
Otherwise, I max out w/ an old Proco Rat.

    You'd want a wah-wah pedal for that.

whatever you do... do not depend on the Pod. a day will come when either it quits or you can't plug it in, a setting got moved, erased or something... then it will be down to your amp, your guitar, and your fingers. those things need to be in harmony, and the pedals come after. especially the Pod. I had one and it was great... until it didn't work and I had to gig with stuff (an amp) that did not cut it on it's own. did it to me a couple times and so out the door it went. and mores the better. I upped some of my gear and that has been the underlying premise ever since.... guitar and amp have to sound good all alone with no other stuff.

I understand. I told myself that I would master this in my spare time this winter. Ha! Not even close at this time.

I get a slight hum out of the pod. Someone told me that it's just how it is with something that old, but my crappy ancient DigiTech RP-50 is quiet.
