I've been fantasizing about getting a Creston for a long time. I love the Jazzmaster/Jaguar look but after owning a Jag, I really dislike the bridge/trem setup. Yes I know about buzz stops, mustang bridges, etc. Even still IMO it's a lousy design. Plus I prefer hardtails. Assuming I can scrape the funds together and Creston is willing, this is along the lines of what I'd like to get. Suggestions welcome. Thanks.

big creston fan here - i visit his site on a regular basis just to get a peek at some guitar eye candy - this combo looks great to me - the tele bridge seems like a great substitute but some guys are going to miss the 'wiggle stick' set-up - the pickup combination with a p-90 at the neck and tele bridge pup should work well together -

    Hey, that's my guitar!

Well, okay, mine's black with a MOTS pickguard and a WR HB in the neck.

Well, okay, it doesn't actually exist yet, except in my head.

    But besides that....;)

I've been thinking of something along the same lines, but with a tele neck pickup...what program did you use to mock it up?

Looks good to me, I like it.

If ever the only thing is I would only play around with the idea of having the 3-way switch at the bottom where Jazzmasters usually have it. But really no need to as it currently has a mix of a tele deluxe "look" thrown in since the toggle is up there. I think the P90 + a tele bridge would be a fun interesting combination. =)

I also fantasize about a Creston. Your design looks great. My fantasy includes a TV Jones in the neck rather than a P90.

I like it a lot. I never really thought the small pickguard with the tele control plate looked very good on the offset body. The full sized jazzmaster pickguard looks sweet, and that will be a fantastic pickup combo. If it were mine, I would think about adding an independent volume control for each pickup.

Maybe just this one? It's hardtailed and it's cool :)

I did a couple of those-one a stopbar and one a hardtail. What I love most is using those roller tone pots for adjustable coil split.

I used an image from the Dressing Room at offsetguitars.com and Photoshop.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm still not sure about the color though...

    I dig it!!!

The color might be a little too bold for my tastes, but otherwise it looks like a really cool idea. I've got 2 Crestons & cannot recommend him highly enough.

Best of luck & keep us posted!

+1. I know some people are complaining about the new Blacktops, because they say that all the chrome and switches and pancake-flipper tailpiece/tremolos are part of what makes a Jag, but that look is just a little too "Teisco" for me.

I do kinda like that all-black one, but my dream guitar has a cleaner face, like the OP's.
