Collection of Low Powered SS Amps (3b).jpg

Combos :
Marshall MG10CF
Fender 15R
Crate GFX-15

Mini-stacks :
Peavey Audition 110 (cut-down head)
Peavey Audition 110 (re-housed head)
Line 6 Spider II 30 (cut-down head)
For a detailled story behind these modifications see this thread :

While none of these are stellar amps, I still keep them because they were almost free acquisitions and got some use on certain circumstances.

All but the Line 6 Spider II came with the guitars I bought at a price that was already a super deal at half (or less) than the average used price at the time I acquired them).
Straps, strap locks, stands, cables and other accessories were often also part of the bundles.

Being on retirement, they also kept me busy cleaning, refurbishing, modifying, adapting, completing them to my taste. Some became surprisingly better doing so.

I would like to see more from you.

I only own two low powered amps. A Yamaha THR 10C that I keep in my locker at work for when I bring an electric in to play during break times and a wonderful 6 watt Cornford Carrera that sit's next to my home computer for play-a-longs, learning a new song or whatever.

It wasn't until I thought about it and counted that I realised I may have a problem.
Here goes.
Blackstar Fly 3 Stereo
Hotone Nano Purple wind
Marshall Origin 5C
VHT Special 6 head
e-Wave Tube-5 ( repurposed a combo into a shabby-chic head ) 2x12AX7 + 1xEL84
Ampmaker WF-55 head
Madamp G3 Blues
Madamp G3 Rock ( not finished building it yet )
Ampmaker WF-55 modded and fitted to a tweed cab with a 12" speaker

Define low powered though. Up to ~18 Watts?
Laney Cub 10
Laney LC15

Low-powered tube amps are my kryptonite...........

Marshall Origin 20C - Fender Excelsior Pro - Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue LTD. Of these, the PR is my least played, least favorite and may soon be sold.........and to replace it in the lineup I will retrieve my Marshall 1974X from consignment hell.

Well, I’m no herdsman, but I have a few. (What is the cutoff for “low powered”?)

Hotone Mojo Diamond
Orange Micro Terror
Harmony H303C

Generally, I use the Hotone and the Orange for headphone amps, with occasional audible blasts when the neighbours aren’t home. The Harmony is mostly for decoration, although I cracked it out for a jam with a couple of buddies last week, and it acquitted itself rather well.

The only amp I have that I don’t consider low-powered is my Princeton Reverb II.

I love small amps, even when they're in a big cab with a big speaker.

Here's a 10-watt homebrew beast; 1x 12AX7 and 2x EL84s with diode rectification. Volume and tone controls. It's kinda sorta a Vox AC15 but...not really. I stuck it in a 1x12 cab with a vintage Vox-labeled Celestion G12M "greenback" speaker. It's a screaming little beast of an amp with plenty of wallop.

Continuing my penchant for connecting vehicles to amps, the badge is from a 1963 Ford Falcon.

Finally, I know what to do with the badge from my old Ascona that has been living in a box for years…

Most of my amps are small. I like 'em that way.

Fender Super Champ X2
VHT Special 6 combo
VHT Special 6 Ultra head
Harmony 8418
Roland Microcube x2 (one came along with a guitar)
Vox Pathfinder 15r
Hotone Mojo Diamond
Hotone British Invasion
Tech 21 Trademark 10
Behringer Firebird GX108
Jay Turser Classic 10
Fender Frontman 15g (rehoused as head and 1x10 cab)
Fender Champion 20
Fender Mustang 1

That's too many. Time to sell some.

Speaking of automotive badges, I have a badge from a Corvair Spyder that'll get attached to an amp or speaker cab someday.

My next one may be a LADA (Russian car brand), with a modification.

I've been wanting to try this one for a long time.

I used to have a Ford Festiva. I cut off the “a” and replaced it with the end of a Taurus badge, creating a Ford Festivus. I wish I still had that Festivus badge for an amp.

If my Line 6 Spider was of higher quality I think I would track your logo to go on the cab.
