Apart from here (a recent find), I've a couple of corners in cyberspace where I like to get lost for days on end.
Both of these sites require me to exercise restraint, otherwise I'm lost for days on end at the expense of eating, sleeping, washing and playing my guitar. Sometimes I'll even fight the call of nature in order to keep reading.
I'm addictive by nature and these two sites bring out the worst of it, however I'm as happy as a pig in the brown stuff, until the regret of all of those missing days comes along.

There was a site called the Fender Discussion Page. It was around for 20yrs and at one point had 64,000 members but 2 yrs ago it went under. The resulting membership went to this link.

I agree, in an ideal world happy places would be physical.
Unfortunately, I've spent 75% of the last few years either bed or house bound but that's beginning to change so online has been my only means of travel at the worst of times.
I find most of the online world either hostile, bad news or like a giant sales pitch. However, finding quiet corners reminds me that the internet can be a modern Great Library of Alexandria. This corner has been my best find in the last few years.
Sometimes wandering along street view on Google Earth in places I've been in the past is great therapy. Rome, Sydney and San Francisco are my favourites.

I do like browsing videos/ articles related to guitar stuff, of course ( like Guitar.com and the other guitar magazine sites, 5-Watt World, Trogly's) and also about my fave old Classic Rock artists ( like JamBase, Louder, Far Out, Rolling Stone).
Its all stuff on my Google feed...

Also, I'm a real sucker for those food-related click bait sites:
'Top 10 hamburgers!, Worst Fast-food restaurants, the best Marinara sauces, peanut butter...'

Once you hit those sites once, you get ' a friend for life!'

I like BBC news too. I get weary of listening to the far left spin and the far right spin response. I figure the BBC has no dog in that fight.

My wife watches the news, I watch sports. I figure there isn't a darned thing I can do about what's going on in the world, so why fret over it? I've pretty much dialed in my life since the storm. I'm either on here, chipping in the yard, at the golf course, or mowing the lawn. Once in a while I go out to eat. I'm a simple man, with a simple plan.

Hopefully not drifting into the forbidden realm of politics here...

In the UK the BBC has a reputation of too left by those on the right and too right by those on the left.
Their news channel must be doing something correct IMHO over and above some seriously excellent programmes, nothwithstanding their appalling light entertainment shows.

Currently the final season of Peaky Blinders is halfway through.
Well worth a watch if you can access the BBC screening rather than the Netflix version, due to the latter's inferior soundtrack for copyright reasons.
