Hi,
Hello to telecaster lovers.
My dream Tele would be a rosewood fingerboard red telecaster with aged white binding. Or any colour with binding
I essentially love the Japanese telecasters but not the fingerboard radius so I was excited about the new JV additions.
I own an Epiphone casino which I love, but Telecasters were giving me serious GAS.
I recently purchased a telecaster used on ebay for £190. It's a Classic Vibe 2014 Made in China with a rosewood fingerboard.
I've just fitted a 4 way switch and also added brass compensated saddles.
I added an F logo as the old one had bubbled and felt rough.
In total I've spent £27 on minor upgrades.
I de-glossed the neck with 360 grit sandpaper and it feels like a fender Player neck but with rounded edges.
It was missing a switch so I added an old strat switch tip from my drawer.
The pick-ups sound ace (tone rider if I believe the mythology) and the 4 way has added a nice warm punchy sound.
After playing tons of teles this year I really don't feel short-changed with this Classic Vibe. It's more than enough guitar for me.
My only major change has been to add 9.5 strings which really brought it to life.
