So I went into GC today to A/B a couple different Teles that I’ve been looking at to decide which one felt and sounded like it was calling to me. The Player Series and the Classic Player Baja. I enjoyed both and was probably going to go Baja, but then I saw THIS Pre-Owned 2017 American Professional hanging up near the ceiling.

I’ve been trying to be patient about shopping on CL for Used American Standards, but this one checked all the boxes for me and I was in love as soon as I clicked off the Standby switch.

The fact that it was blonde butterscotch was icing on the cake—exactly what I’ve been picturing on my wall. It was $1,000 but it is in perfect condition, and included the OHSC with all of the case candy.

These pickups sound expressive and wonderful to my ears, and love the vintage-modern ashtray bridge. I’m happy with my purchase, love how it feels and sounds through my Deluxe Reverb.

Very proud new owner of this beauty :)

She looks pretty and if she checks all the boxes warm her up and enjoy. I'm fighting amp problems, but I had to have a Martn:confused:

congrats- you skipped buying quite a few cheaper models, then modding them, then selling them for a loss, then post 20 questions online, then regret. You went right for a great tele

Congrats, it is gorgeous. If the pickups sound good to you and work with the guitar and amp then they are perfect.
I just bought a Tele (I have not had one in a couple years) at the Clackamas GC on Friday :D.

I have owned a total of one Fender guitar, a 2012 American Standard Telecaster purchased in 2013. I had two main criteria: American made and a six way adjustable bridge. I am pleased.

Beautiful guitar, nice score. I must say GC used gear selection is often times pleasantly surprising, both in quality and price. I've bought plenty of used gear from them at more than good pricing, many times the items look better than described and pictured, and the 45 day "no questions asked" return policy even on used gear is just great peace of mind.

My only Stratocaster is a FSR Fat Strat with an amazing neck, a lot of customization on my part, just a phenomenal guitar. Found it on GC for $399.

Congratulations, that's a beauty of a guitar, so is the case!

Very nice! I really like Fender's professional series lines. Totally happy with my Baja but if I was to get another Fender I'd be looking at a used professional series guitar.

Or, you could just buy a Professional NECK and put the rest together yourself. The guitar is really all in the neck... everything else can easily be created precisely to YOUR taste.

I did this twice, with very pleasing results. ;)

Or... if you can find a Prodessional with just the body color you want, just the pickups that you want, just the bridge that you want, just the electronics that you want already ALL put together... do that!
