I’ve been playing electrics for the better part of 40 years, but I’ve never gotten around to actually attaching my effects to anything resembling a pedalboard. I know, right? Partly, I never settled on a chain that stayed the same for any length of time (fear of commitment?) and partly just laziness. However, when I bought my new Radial Overdrive, I put some time in getting everything the way I wanted it, and cast my eyes around my messy apartment for some random item I might be able to use to keep them all together. I spotted an old IKEA wire shelf on my gear rack, holding up junk for the most part, and gave it some thought. Wouldn’t you know, it was just the right size, and if flipped over, held the pedals at a nice angle. Velcro was easy; I used to install window coverings, and I still have rolls of adhesive Velcro that I never used. Adhesive weatherstripping to give it grip (and not mar my hardwood floors), and Bob is, as they say, my uncle. Anything extraneous I might decide to use would just be short-term, and can live on the floor.

Oh, I’ve been down the rabbit hole for years; I just didn’t strap ‘em all down until now!

Yeah, I made a bunch of pedalboards out of surplus hardwoood - they are nice, and they look good, but the one that works the best I have to admit is an old cutting board I commandeered.

Nice job making a board out of standard house materials! You could probably find a laptop bag to transport it because the size is so small.

Good call. That is, if I ever leave my house again...
