After 41 years of playing Telecasters I guess it’s about time. Craigslist. Asking was $300. I paid $275. The seller could chicken pick like a monster but he kept saying that he was a Strat guy.

The body has been reliced; and looks good I think. The hardware has some tarnishing and scratching. The neck is a Mighty Mite with 9.5 radius, medium frets with a Fender logo on the headstock.

It sports a Wilkinson bridge with compensated brass saddles, Grover tuners.

Pickups are Fender Custom Shop '51 Nocasters wired up with an Emerson T4-250k pre-wired kit with a 4 way switch.

A Fender gig bag came with it. I know very little about parts casters but I feel like I won the lottery. Glad I contacted the guy.

What does the second position do on a 4-way wired Tele?

Seems like you got a heck of a good deal! Difficult to go wrong at $275 if the guitar is pleasing you.

    Congrats on that.

Some partcasters can be absolutely superb - better than Fender factory assembled guitars.

    Looks great!

2nd position should be both pickups in serial or parallel - whichever the 3rd position isn't :)

How are you liking the Wilkinson? I've heard it's a great bridge for the money.

Score! If that neck plays as nice as it looks you won big. I have a Mighty Mite on my MJT Tele. Love that neck. I think 275.00 is a great price for a Partscaster. You won't mind banging on that thing one bit!

The 4th position in a tele mod should be both pickups in series for a humbucker effect. Most schematics I've seen put it at one end or the other of the switch, you'll know instantly when you hit it. Great deal! I spent twice that putting together my partscaster. How do you like the nocasters? Looks like you got a hot one there!

I like the bridge very much. I have a blond HWY-1 Tele that I bought about 6 years ago using the GC used gear finder. The salesperson was holding the guitar 7 States away telling me it was 100% original- no doubt about it! It arrived with the same Wilkinson Bridge. :D

Our other guitar player has a Modified Thinline Squier Tele that he put that bridge on. It’s a good bridge. They intonate very well with the pivoting saddles.

    Thanks!

Nice tele! $275 is a great price.
I've heard nothing but good things about MM necks.

Question: Since you're a tele player, what's your preference on radius? I come from the LP school so I tend to go for flatter fretboards.
    Bonus question: Favorite fretboard wood?

I like the way it looks! Worst case scenario, just "part it out", or make some swaps. IMHOP, any new acquisition Tele is a win.

Second hand partscasters are the greatest buys out there. When somebody that knows how puts one together with good parts, you can get an exceptional guitar.

Looks like that's what you have. Nice find!

That's really nice. It's been pre-disastered, so you don't have to cry over the dings and bumps you're sure to put in it. Lotsa people spend that much on just a neck. You got the whole guitar!

WOW! WHO are you buying your Fender guitars from? I've never had any problems with the fit on any Fender guitar that I've owned so far.

Any way, I would've reported him for fraud with that fake Fender decal on the headstock. Make him suffer for his dishonesty. That finish looks horrible - like someone took a heatgun and tried to remove a polyurethane finish from it!

Hell of a deal. And she looks great! Im actually kinda jealous. $275 is ridiculous especially if she plays well. Ive got over 700 in my parts tele at the moment! I wouldnt change a thing, but if I had seen a guitar like this pop up while I was saving for my build, I certainly would have dipped into the funds and put the build on hold! Congrats brother! I hope you enjoy her (him?? Wouldnt want to assume) for years to come!

Great price for a cool looking tele. Congrats.
The pups, and hardware alone would cost over 200..
