My goal here was to create a simple backing track that was minor & major key neutral. Any scale minor, major, pentatonic, or whatever in a given key would work with it. This is mostly for learning the fretboard, scales, triads, chord tones and such. I was going to add this to the backing track challenge rotation but didn't want to over reach. Be that as it may, here's my attempt at a backing track in "A" that appears to meet my goal. Feel free to comment, play over it or go get a sandwich:

I like this a lot. Your take might just inspire me to take another go at it with a different attitude. ;)

Yea man, just got done with it. I went to primal places. A morning 3 mile bike ride to the library to post. And 3 miles back. Exercise,
    This reminds me of Traffic.

I enjoyed this. I think I turned it into A dorian. Rhythm guitar is the Casino neck pickup through a Tweed Deluxe model, lead is tele neck pickup through an AC-30 model.

@knh555 -That sounds scary like the intro music to a zombie movie! The hero might not make it!
@Mjark - Yours is suspenseful. A detective movie. He's on the case. But it's a Norwegian mystery, so it might end badly.

It's a cool track @MrClint but it's definitely in A minor because the baseline has a minor 3rd (C) in it.

@ASATKat - A pod of dolphins is tracking down an evil shark. Nice underwater dolphin voices! I weirdly enjoyed it.

@knh555 : multitracking, delay and reverb are appropriate ingredients!
@Mjark : a different approach with a single sweet sounding guitar.
@guitarsophist : yours sounds like a good old jam session. The rythm guitar chords sound good, they add a jazzy / latin vibe.
@ASATKat : very good use of delay! The lines always sound good together.
@G-52 : to my surprise the lines you played in a major key somehow fit. A bold decision to use just a plain clean guitar!

Good call out! Through no effort on my part the C Major/pentatonic scales work fine since they contain the same notes. Thanks to music theory we can get some major and minor options for free.
