It’s so nice to see how he enjoys it. And takes a nap in the sun after the meal: F2B591BC-6E50-4964-97B0-7E17EB4F0771.jpeg 6B57F970-423A-49D7-A7AF-B50D32A213F3.jpeg 1FAEECF8-6A98-40DD-826C-5F94ECC33652.jpeg

What type of dog is that? He’s a nice looking fellow

I like that we sure care for our canine companions around here

I should probably get Lois better food

Sweet little fella. We used to have a couple of short haired Jack Russell dogs when I was a kid. They were absolutely crazy. One of them used to literally dive bomb you from across the room, totally hilarious.

    Nice looking dog.

Speaking of dogs eating, I ran across this dog meme a few days ago...

I love Jack Russells! This is my beast, Izzie. And she is a beast. She's fast as lightning too, but only when she's going after a ball or an errant noise she thought she heard.

That 2nd photo of Johnny is great! We had a little one that had that look after the first bite or two of any meal. It’s almost as if they’re savoring the moment in some prayer like reverence...”Mmmmm, oh food, glorious food!”

Good ol' Jack Russell Terrors. Miss our little fella... too much dog for us, but we had him the first 16 years we were married and he was the best boy.

When i was real little, my folks switched brands of dogfood, from a dry brown stuff to a dry red stuff.

The brown tasted much better. I can still distinctly recall that

    No, we had a dog.
I advised my parents though to go back to the old brand, that it tasted much better

I told the vet what I was feeding Lois and they didn’t seem too happy because it had red kibble in it

Apparently whatever dye/product they use for the red pieces is hard on a dog’s insides, kidneys I believe...

Well, that red stuff had a weird aftertaste. I do recall that

    Great-lookin' pooch!

I am a huge fan of Jack Russell terrorists. They are high energy and a whole lot of fun. Enough personality for three of any other breed.

I miss my short hair Jack Russell. Riley was stubborn as hell but I loved him.

    Enjoying you enjoying your pooch.

Oh great, now my eyes are watering...

Agreed. I thought maybe he'd finished eating and was letting out a savory belch.

We've always had dogs. As far as I can tell, our family has had a dog around since the 1920s (Dad's dog was named "Flash"...I think he liked the "Flash Gordon" serials at the movie theaters).

Anyway, Miz Diane and I have had nine in 34 yrs...but this last one (Rocket, a Pyrenees mix) is the only one I've ever had that didn't really care about food. He eats...but sometimes he'll just give me that "thanks, I'll eat that later" look and walk away. Even with something like bacon, he'll just calmly accept it...no grabbing, no excitement. Great dog, weird eating habit.

He's had high kidney numbers since his first Vet visit after we picked him up at the shelter...and he gets special food (which he doesn't really like). But even the tasty stuff...meh. Oh well, he's 12 and a great dog.

Great looking dag, I love Pyrees. Ours is his opposite, I have never been around a more food-motivated dog. She never begs, or snatches out of your hand, you can eat your dinner on the couch next to her without her even sniffing, but the crinkle of her treats bag (see below) will send her running, and we could set clocks by her deep sighs that begin 15m before she's supposed to eat at 7:30a and 5p.
