My cat at work gets excited when I get a text and likes to play with the phone. Today I was getting a bunch of texts and I didn't notice a popup saying that my memory was low and asking if I wanted to open up some memory. The cat hit the yes button,;and before I knew it 6 GB of something was deleted. I had/have a lot of stuff on there that I didn't want to get rid of. How can I find out what the cat deleted?

Hold this out in front of the cat, but don't give it to him until he coughs up the info he deleted. It should come out of him like a giant hairball.

    It's probably not a....

    Cat astrophy.

I hate myself in a way now.

Wait. I responded hastily. You have work cats, and home cats I presume?
    I want a work dog!

Also, you will know what the cat deleted when you look for it, and it isn't there.

Ok, I'm done. Seriously, I hope there was no important data lost.

At least you can truthfully blame it on the cat.

Dogs have owners: Cats have staff.
Your work cat obviously thinks you work for him.
Probably because you bring him treats, clean his poopy box, pet him, etc.
As your boss, he was trying to get you to concentrate more on work and less on texting.
Besides, cats have little tiny attention spans ... they hear a fun noise, they pounce ...
    And this can happen.

You could always just ask the cat.

Usually if my phone lets me delete any files with one paw click, it's junk. Temporary internet files, cookies, inferior or duplicate photos, MAYBE.

Deleting important files would surely involve more prompts, i.e. "Are you sure you want to delete (whatever is selected)?"

Being flippant was a knee jerk, sleep deprived reaction, and again I apologize. Hopefully the deletion was only something routine.

cat wiped my phone files with the stroke of his paw, man... honest.... :D

 When my phone gets choked up with data the first place I check is the Spotify app settings page. Towards at the bottom is the Spotify cache - it sucks up megabytes like a data vampire. I often find it bloated to over a Gb!
Delete the spotify cache and party on! There'll be no ill effects.

It was the cat's stuff he didn't want you to see.

Dare I say it was kitty porn?

How does one come to have a work cat and a house cat? Is the work cat more of a commercial model? Maybe the house cat is the same, but with a weaker warranty or minus the corrosion resistance found with a commercial duty cat? Asking for a friend...

That would be something, but what would really do the trick is teaching the cat to care.

Never gonna happen, the cat knows exactly what it’s doing!
