    Hey guys,

My brother and I have decided to try building a guitar. He's been working on a body design.
Anyway, where would you recommend getting a neck with a rosewood fretboard? I know the places I can get one from, I just want an opinion on quality since this is the first time I've even ordered a part. Well, except for the bridge/saddle I ordered yesterday.

    Thanks,
    Hugo

    Hi Hugo!
For Fender shape necks Allparts is a good choice.

I've used 3 allparts necks, all really nice. I also hear a lot of good things about USACG and Warmoth. The Allparts will need fret levelling and dressing.

So will the Warmoth... believe me! They make great necks, but holy cow. Every one I have gotten from them needed a ton of levelling. And whats funny is that I've bought a few Dano necks for about 1/3 the price and they have all been perfect right out of the box. Go figure.

Where can you get DANO necks? Are they from Danelectro? Do they still make necks, standard, custom and otherwise? Thanks

I picked up a few on ebay a while ago. They were RI necks that were made in Korea. You can also get them from DanGuitars but they are a bit more money than what I paid... although still cheaper than Warmoth.

If you are building a custom designed body, why not buy a paddle head neck
so you could also shape a headstock to go with the body?
Eden sell some and maybe Warmoth does as well.
