I read this whole thread, and I'm really glad that I invested the effort.

What an amazing and inspiring build this has been.

I've been a little absent from TDPRI over the holidays so I just caught up on the last few pages. Amazing! The decal (and indeed the whole guitar) is perfect! Thanks Rick for sharing this with us.

Thank you for the kind words. For a mere 10 pounds (a bit over $12 U.S., she could be yours. Don't want to be a shill :)p), but a wee bit of looking will show you where & how.

Whoops, somehow I didn't realize the auction was still on. Done. It's the least I could do.

Everyone should buy a ticket, but just remember who's going to win.

    Hint: me

I haven't looked at this in a few weeks. It's done and crossed the pond and all. Wow! What a great job for all the right reasons. A toast to all who contributed. Good work, everyone!

I bought a ticket for the cause. If I win, I'll auction the guitar and donate the money to the Blackbird Foundation.

Well I had pretty much resigned myself to thinking you were gonna win, but I went ahead and contributed anyway, and now I've got this strange feeling that it might actually be me who wins this beautiful masterpiece.

    I love you guys.

That's a bad photo (I nicked it from Facebook it isn't one I took) but it's one of the displays at Friday's event. The purple tele Andy made for me, housing his first pair of hand wound pickups (I have the bread box too!)... the white Sonicaster he built for me from a horrible 99p body he bought on eBay (also featuring my first attempt at painting a guitar), the "lipstick" guitar he never finished and forever just sort of picked away at (Jeff kindly and lovingly assembled it for me in this unfinished state, how it will stay), the double neck, and the Unassembled thunderbird.

This is what Sir Andrew looks like on the wall at work, where the event was held, outside my art studio. I made posters explaining the guitars story, and included all the Guitar Nerd Details for.... Guitar nerds.

I had 5 acts playing over the course of the evening, this dude was one of them and he played the guitar on stage for one of his songs, or was quite special to see in action. I've sent the video to Rick.

That is a photo of some of Andy's woodwork/art. 3 of the pieces are mine, one for sale, and one sold. Sold to another family suffering after a suicide, so it was really quite beautiful and emotional to make that connection.

And here's a photo of the double neck getting some Proper Musician love.

The evening was wonderful. I'm STILL exhausted. And money is still being raised until tomorrow, via tickets.

Monsieur Jupiter, I have no idea what your actual name is so I can't cheat unless you tell me.

JUST KIDDING IM NOT GOING TO CHEAT OBVIOUSLY.

I'll be sad to see her go. But so far in just £10 tickets she's raised over £1000 for the suicide charity (SOBS) and my bereavement foundation (Blackbird Foundation) I hope to give SOBS as big a check as possible. Doing as Andy wished.

I'm probably going to do the draw live on Facebook if I put enough makeup on. Either that or just video it. Either way, I'll be doing the draw on camera around 7pm in England, over on my foundation's Facebook page.

    Xxxx

Thanks for the update...I hope that a lot more folks buy a ticket for this once in a lifetime opportunity and that your efforts raise a LOT of money for such a worthy cause!

Pshaw... He'll be fine. I thought I mentioned a while back that I was going to win.

Although... My wife did a count the other day after I bought a Strato-project and a mini Martin LX1 (as a gift for my one and only student) and said something along the lines of "no more guitars" so when I win it'll obviously have to stay with Sara but I've got a good feeling about this. I may just have to purchase another ticket or two to keep the odds in my favour though.

By the Way, congratulations on raising so much money for the cause. That is just outstanding. I love the other guitars and artwork too.
