Now don't you go and buy a ticket or I'll have to buy yet another. I've already told my wife that we're going to win the guitar but when we do, it's staying in England. The tickets for the auction are pretty reasonable... it's the flight to visit the guitar that'll cost some money.

Just got a ticket, hope to win so I can re-donate for a good cause. My daughter has/had some M.H. issues and it such an insidious thing which few really understand.

I had the honour to lay hands on the lady Sir Andrew this afternoon, and I can guarantee you that she is a thing of immense beauty and brilliant craftsmanship. The lucky winner is going to get an extremely beautiful instrument that sounds wonderful.

Again, hats off to Rick for his outstanding work and generosity.

That's an awesome instrument and a generous move, well done Sir!

I wasn't sure if I was allowed to do that, I want to be careful not to cross a line sounding like I'm advertising my charity or whatever, so I just left it.

Reckless Rat did the set up on this today for me, and did plenty of Oohing and Ahhing as well.

Can't wait to see what you build to hold mete's pickups when they finally get there! ;)

This week I'll find the receipt and send it to Rick so he can ask the MFs whereabouts they are... It was a really nice matched pair.

Rick will find them. I think it's going to get loud at the old post office...

As long as they didn't take that suspicious looking electronic gizmo from the middle east out to the bomb range and blow it up. Just to be safe you know.
    Cheers,

Blimey, it's nothing more than a pair of pickups from Istanbul.

For crying out loud, you are allies!

I can see the customs guys looking at them... hmm, they are potted black blocks with detonator wires coming out, and they have magnetic strips to allow them to be attached under a vehicle... SEIZED.

Some hack from the customs office is shredding it on a First Act electric that he fitted with some nifty pickups he lifted from work.

By the way, none of us needs to be worried about that guitar anymore... Looks like she found a nice cosy place...

(Ruefully:) Well, so far, thanks to the mofo's at US Customs, it's going to have to be an air guitar. So imagine something really cool, and that's what I've made with them.

However, I did come up with an idea that was just short of stupendous, in the shower a couple of days ago, and when I remember what it was, I'll write it down in case I ever get my paws on those pups.

Now, Mete, Rattie's a happily married rodent.

No, I'm not a doctor, just tried to play doctor with all the little girls in my neighborhood as a lad. No, actually, I was shy and retiring.

Mete, please do NOT SEND the receipt. Scan the thing and PM or email it to me. I don't want the idjits to have another go at losing something for me.

I think it's probably just good plain old incompetence, along with a healthy dose of "what, me give a s--t?" attitude amongst overpaid, no-talent, low IQ gummint workers. But I am going to go try and put some heat on them. Problem is the Post Office is my only contact and they point their fingers and say- well, it's customs, that's not us. So I need to look up how to complain to customs. I don't want 'em on a pointy shredder or a mushy pink Hello Kitty, I want them in MY SHOP where they belong.
