I think thats a Brent Mason intro.
Sounds to me to be all E Pentatonic minor scale with a splattering of double stops. Slowing it down helped me sort a approximation I'm under the hammer at the moment but post what you have worked out and together we could tune it.

H, it's Brent Mason. He does it seems like about 80% of the guitar work on country records. Chesnutt been around since the 90s with good stuff.

Jepp, it's the right stuff. Now all I miss is the speed.
I'm at home today with the manliest illness you can get. Fever and a cold. So the tele have to wait a day or two.

The end of the tele opening is tough to pin point as the drummer walks overs the 5th and 6th string work...

BUT... there is a cleaner 'run' near the end of the song..

The 'bounce' working off the 5th and 6th strings is interesting.... intricate but important ....

anybody certain about what he is doing ....?

I refer to the double stops with the A and E strings....at the end of the opening run.....not the blues rhythm that he moves onto......

Yes, sorry, didn't mean to short-change you. I was glad to see that someone else basically confirmed what I was pretty sure of. Mason really come up with the coolest parts.

No worries. Yeah, his parts are just great, and of course the execution is just delicious. Each little fill, intro, solo -- they're all a little different, and they're all a little the same. And just when you think you've heard all of 'em, there's another one with a little something new.
